It's light on Watergate, which is refreshing although felt a bit stunted (the book is already long, what's an extra few chapters about the end days?). If you like American history, if you're interested in modern politics. If you want to know the roots of the modern political machine. If you, like me, find narration of the 1968 presidential debates the perfect bedtime story. Then you will love this. Otherwise you might do well to watch a few episodes of Frontline. The audiobook narrator had some odd, and incorrect, pronunciations but mostly was aces. You know you are totally wanting to read this now....more

It's set in Oklahoma; includes tons of accurate meteorological science; features a female protagonist who is a scientist; and diverse characters who are not tokens. It's not a long book, but she packs excellent world-building and a fast-placed plot in. Veronica Roth could take a note from Kate Messner. Highly recommend! ...more
