everyone should read this book. its absolutely heartbreaking, and so difficult to get through. but if just reading these people's stories is this horreveryone should read this book. its absolutely heartbreaking, and so difficult to get through. but if just reading these people's stories is this horrific, i can't imagine what it must look like in person. choosing not to listen, to look away from the atrocities being committed, is a position of privilege. the very least we can do for Palestinian's is hear their stories and acknowledge their struggle. one particularly devastating case was a father whose son was shot by IDF soldiers and to save face, they denied the son existed at all. news organizations, politicians, the world said there was no way to prove the boy who died was even real. not only did this man have to mourne the slaughter of his child, he also has to face the world telling him that his son didn't even exist. of all the books I've read this year, this is the most important....more
