I really wanted to read something about first-year college kids to get excited for next year. This was not it. Instead, this book was very, very slow. The plot was way too drawn out, and I kept hoping it would get better. For example, it had interesting issues like how to handle divorce, how to handle conflict with foreign parents, how to deal with depression, and find friends. It had really good potential. Unfortunately, the storyline was choppy. I kept hoping it was going to get better. It didn't. Instead, the author would write about something like a conversation or an event that occurred. Then it would be rehashed over and over again. It was a bit repetitive and dull, and kinda weird. Why is a first-year getting with a third year that's like his best friend's sister? He barely talks about his best friend and her reaction to this. It's a bit weird....more
