I am not a huge Stephen King fan, however, I like to dabble from time to time in foreign territory. From what I have read from the King, this is definitely out of his norm. With that said, I did enjoy this more than his original material.
I am amazed but I guess not surprised on the range King has. His ability to master his craft in horror and thrillers is unprecedented; nevertheless, to change gears and write a sci-Fi fantasy with fairy tale elements takes you to a different side of Mr. King. I am pleasantly impressed with his performance in this book. It was a fun read with nostalgic moments.
I am looking forward to reading more of his books that are out of his normal style.

My book club picked this, and I wasn’t disappointed. It wasn’t “bad, but I wouldn’t have picked this off the shelf for my pleasure. Nevertheless, with that in mind, it was a pleasant surprise.
The writing style was brilliant, and dated/relatable to its time. The way she was able to bring you into the scene is phenomenal and poetic. I enjoyed the little passages/quotes before each chapter. It was a useful preface to begin what you will start to explore in every mind bending chapter. I want to thank the Co-Author, Leslie Sommers for giving me the privilege of escaping in this mystical, heartwarming, adventurous and inspiring sequel to her Brighde Amulet series. If you like Harry Potter and/or Percy Jackson, you will DEFINITELY enjoy this book!!
My review will be different than most. In old writing, an “Acrostic is a form of poem that helps describe a word through contextual writing. My prompt word of choice for the review, “GROWTH.
G Growth; relating to, how this books transformation from the first made waves of improvement through character, storyline, setting and mysteries. The mystical nature of how the story allowed you to feel like you were actually there, experiencing it with the character is beautiful in its own nature. A brilliant expansion of the many talents the author holds, and I can not wait to experience more!
R Riveting; brilliantly crafted with its ability to engross you in the setting, life and family of Bridget. The heartwarming soundtrack to her “romantic side, and the passion felt anew after the pain of an ex. The family (friends) old and new that show the conditional love of a family, unconditionally! The adventure through her experiences, dreams, lessons and journey leaves you feeling alive!
O Original; bringing you smack dab right back into the thick of it from the first book without skipping a beat. The originality of how clever, whimsical, productive and creative her words are can not be ignored. From the first book to the next, Bridget is true to herself, but her originality blossoms into something beautiful even more than before.
W Whimsical; Bridget’s growth from the time you leave her in her high school days from the first book to now has become ever more impressive than perceived. The cleverness in her wit, the fluidity in her confidence sends chills down your spine, but adrenaline through your veins in a way to uplift you with every passing moment leaving you mesmerized from her unpredictable mannerisms.
T Transforming; as inspiration sets in on the journey ahead, the passion of how each chapter, character, setting and development on climax is so transformative. Bridget grows beautifully in herself through so much love, confidence and commitment. Each character transforms in their own way, and the adventures become more infectious, leaving you flipping pages and enjoying the ride!
H Humble; despite being an author, good people, and someone I admire, Leslie has remained more humble than most through her journey. Bridget and the amulet series has been such an amazing experience for me. I have never touched a fantasy book in my life. She offered her book as a “gift I never knew I wanted. I thank her for now understanding the feeling everyone gets from fiction. As a nonfiction person, I never understood the “escape. READ the amulet series, and allow yourself to feel the escape that now I can humbly share with others ...more

I have readSo, if you like Young Adult fantasy that is no super corny or cheesy, then you will love this new series by Leslie Sommers and her mother.
I have read many novels that give you false and weird fantasy vibes. I am not a true fantasy fan, but I know the author well, and she is good people (lol inside joke). Nonetheless, what I loved about this book was the realistic points of view from the characters, their powers and the story. The book holds a realistic element to Scottish Mythology, with powers that resemble a more unique but down to earth description. Every character holds their own role in the YA high school drama scene. I was able to relate very well to many of the stories, even though my HS background is not your traditional. I was able to escape to a place I have always liked doing in movies, but found in a book.
I give a huge shoutout to the author and her mother. Job well done, and I can not wait for the second installment! Leslie Sommers Brighde Reborn...more

The rest is history!! It is funny and familiar. Diesel and Carl (monkey) remind me of shaggie and scooby lol. Lizzy is familiar in the sense of how she is gullible, lovable, relatable and all around interesting. The story takes place in Salem, and that’s a big perk for me. I love witch trials history, but this doesn’t feed totally into that rich history. It’s definitely a tale on its own.

Wow! One word could describe the unique beauty of this amazing "AWE" inspired selection. It is in a class on its own on how it describes a new type of psychology, and vast study of how we interpret life, feelings, emotions and the "systems" of our ever changing universe. Life and death are one thing, but how we perceive everything in our own emotional context is so unique, "AWE" really does express the emotional context that is needed.
Dacher K explains very well on how we are all interlinked in "systematic" experiences that shape us in how we move throughout life. We are all connected to this circle of live, and rely on each other for existence, and allowing us to experience everything in life's awesomeness!
AWE was such a fascinating read. I am not truly able to express everything I felt on reading it. It is in a new category of scientific studies, and i am intrigued to see if there will be any more literature to back up the study and psychology behind the vastness exploration in the emotional, physical and mental states of "AWE."
For those looking for a "different" view on scientific research, I would recommend to dive into this interesting read!...more

This has become the never ending theme to Peter Pan as we know it. We know Peter Pans fictional story of a young boy who seeks adventure, kicks Hooks butt, is "so fly he never lands," and thinks of happy thoughts. However, the fictional side to one tale, is always masked when there is a villain in the mist.
James Cook (Hook), is our hero/villain. The story you think you know, but have no idea is told comically, profound, humbled and open minded through one man that everyone pins as their nemesis. However, "Hook" has a who knew meaning to "the hero wins in this one." The story follows a picture perfect time line to J.M. Barries fictional fairy-tale, but lives as a prequel to the 1900 classic.
I am at a loss for words when it comes to just how well this story was portrayed through the life of captain cook (hook). his story should be heard, and I am glad i decided to read it. It brought smiles to my face, tears to my eyes, adventure to my curiosity and closure to my conscience. Like every human, Hook has a messed up past which brings new meaning to symbolical poetry through darkness. A wolf in sheep's clothing, and a damn good lad!
I leave you all with this question, "if you could live forever, would you choose to?"
peter says, "To live would be an awfully big adventure." All boys, except one, grow up. But would you choose to stay young for the sake of your own adventitious happiness?
A must read for those who are fans of Peter Pan!...more

I can not give this book any less than a 5 star. I know some would say that "5" is a little high, but it all depends on your taste. Throughout my experience with Katee, I have grown to love each book in its own way. Each story is tied to the Olympus 13, but each character and scenario brings on a new adventure. This book reminded me of the hunger games series, maze runner and divergent all in one. it had its twisted, seductive, and playful manner to it to tease you all the way through, but the action and adventure kept it alive even more. It had its romantic side, but give it a gladiator twist with some damn near kinky shit =).
I loved it from the beginning to the end, and each romantic scene had its purpose. I can not wait ti indulge in the next.

I have read Katee Roberts first installment of the Olympus series, "Neon Gods' and I fell in love. It was a little different than the original romantic novels I have read. I was not used to the "erotica" style. Nonetheless, I believe the contemporary approach did its job in the story line.
However, "Electric Idol" struck me as an amazing story about what it takes to go from true the unknown cliche, and disregard reality with romance, lust, trust and desire. I would consider this a true modern day fairy-tale with twists and turns you would never expect. What would you do in the name of love? Would you, could you and should you? Ask yourself these questions as you read this "HIGHLY RECOMMENDED" romance adventure that will leave you breathless and wanting more.
Stay golden my friends, and I will leave you with a few favorite quotes and responses:
"You and Persephone have been taking care of us long enough. Ill handle this." (OK, like OMG. I was so surprised at the outcome of this. I was shocked to think one thing and then the next happened. It was a number of different options that could have occurred when Callisto made this comment. however, to find out what she did will amaze you.)
"Look at us. Beauty and her Beast. Happily ever after and everything. Maybe fairy tales do exist." (I absolutely love this quote because I consider this a modern re-tell of Beauty and the Beast. The story has a Hamlet vibe with Beauty and the Beast tendencies. I would love a movie out of this book/series<3.)...more

OK, so I put 4.5 because I cant "fully" LOVE this. I need to step back, catch my breath and analyze what I just saw. I have never been exposed to "erotica" if that is what this came to. The in-depth detail from start to finish on the intimacy was a little more than I was ready for. However, I am not disappointed. therefore, I will wait to give 5 stars until I have been properly introduced... And lets say this was an amazing introduction.
Needless to say, I love the history of Olympus. Everything about Greek mythology has been a love for me since history class. I thrive on Poseidon fantasy tales, Hercules adventures, and the underworld myths and fables as they seize to exist. This is most definitely a contemporary fiction based on drama, love and heroism.
The love between Hades and Persephone is one that reminds me of "50 shades of gray", mixed with the obsession and imprinting of "Twilight", while the back story (besides terminal illness and death) of "Me before you" sets in with the myth of an underworld god being set straight to his "lack there of" love dry spell. The intimacy is INTENSE!! The love story is written be a sadistically erotic Taylor Swift. I have no words yet to describe again what I have read.
What would you do if you had the choice between true love, and true power?
I can not wait to read the full series! <3 Bravo to #KateeRobert...more
