I had never read a book with more attractive heroine... because she was being hit on so much, she must be damn gorgeous and I liked it. I felt so much feminine power here unlike most romance book that also had gorgeous heroines but seemed to be less attractive than the heroes in their books. Since most heroes always had string of women attracting to them but not the same went with the heroines. So this was a really refreshing read. And the beginning!! WOW!! This book started out super awesome... Gosh the Bossman was hot and damn witty... I loved their beginning and their ending... HELL!! I loved them all from the first word to the last... the story was wonderful. EVERYTHING was wonderfully written. This book was one EPIC ROMANCEE!! DAMN IT!! You were too good to be real... I laid my head in awe for this awesome piece of work!! BRAVO!

This book.. it was emotional and perhaps some might think that there were too many things happening and too many characters... but to make the series this complex, I thought, in a way, it was perfect. the complexity of it made Nalini Singh one of the best author I had ever read. I loved all of her characters even the villians. And after each books, each couples gained even more space in my heart. How I absolutely ADORED them all.

This book has the one of the best female character I have ever read. Mina Harris is the epitome of goodness.. I mean if you happen to get stuck on an island with her, i'm sure she may decide to sacrifice herself to safe you... You see, our beautiful Mina was a homeless and she was a homeless for over 7 YEARS!!! the first chapter truly says it all about her... Despite her extreme hunger, she let another teenage homeless took the food she found. She also tried to steal money but still conscious enough to take only what she thought enough. She was desperate and yes.. in her situation, her action seemed like a hypocrisy when survival was on the line but Mina actually had the line she was unwilling to cross... and because of her action, she met Lev.
From the start of the book, Lev seemed like a robot, a violent man who served his brother, Sasha... but we soon learns that he was also the most honest and righteous man on earth. When Lev caught Mina stealing from Sasha's wallet, he could probably send her to jail or even make her life a hell but he chose not too. He assessed the situation and found that Mina only took just a hundred bill from a wallet full of money. He realised that the beautiful Mina was not a thief but a desperate person. He then offered her choices including a choice of a job... obviously Mina chose the job since she had nowhere else to go.
I Truly Literally Absolutely loved both Mina and Lev. They were really really innocent and good people. Mina, despite her desperation, never took things for granted. She never asked Lev for more. and she felt grateful for small things that normal people who have food and shelter would probably forget to appreciate. Like how she cried over the hamburger she ate.. how she earnestly wanted to keep the leftover like her lifeline. She was also smart and intelligent. When Lev tried to give her his watch (Tag Heuer BTW) obviously she didn't want to take his expensive thing but most of all, she also knew the risk that the expensive watch would probably get her mugged. She didn't tell Lev that she had no home because she was ashamed of her situation but also she didn't want to trouble him more. Lev realised that anyway and followed her. He finally decided to bring her to his home. When Mina followed Lev to his home, she also understand the risk of being a lone woman's in a man's territory. She was caution but she also understood that she had no choice. She did not just blindly follow him (much) but yeah she really had no place to go.. what else could she lose but herself. One can't lost what one don't have.
Lev, on the other hand, was the most simple and complicated person. He was simple because what he said was always the truth and was complicated because he was not exactly normal. In fact, he was extraordinary. He did not feel emotion well but he believed in action. Unfortunately, most people didn't understand and fear him but luckily Mina truly learnt to understood him. Despite his attraction to Mina, he never took advantage of her. He also never forget to be caution around Mina. After all, he found her pick-pocketing Sasha's wallet. That was why he only allowed her to sleep in his room so her could keep an eye on her. And Trust me, I really believe that THAT was the only reason he let her sleep there... because he was THAT HONEST!! So much so that when he introduced Mina to Sasha... he told him the truth. “Where did you go off to last night? And where did you find my wallet? I didn’t realize I dropped it until Anika gave it back to me.�
“You didn’t drop it,� Lev responded. “Mina stole it.�
Mina's heart stopped. Literally. And again he said it to the crew of the gentleman's club, Bleeding heart that was owned by Sasha. “Where’d you find this one?�
His eyes on me, Lev responded without emotion, “Stealing Sasha’s wallet.�
At first, Mina was shock, embarrassed and quite angry and she could not understand why he would embarrass her further. She even called him "Asshole".. (YEAH I love that she got guts too.. LOVELY!)
But Lev being Lev, he didn't realise that some truths were to be said wisely. After Nas, his sister explained how he embarrassed Mina, he sincerely apologised to her. He spoke softly. “Nastasia informed me that what I said in front of Anika and Viktor was inappropriate and I likely embarrassed you.� My brow furrowed in confusion. He spoke about it as if he didn’t know why I would be embarrassed about it. He went on, “It wasn’t my intention to cause you distress, and I now understand why you called me an asshole. I apologize.�
Lev was honest but most of all, he meant what he said and he truly don't judge people because of their background. “I suppose you’re going to go around telling everyone that I’m a homeless thief?� He tilted his head in that way of his and concentrated hard, searching my face. “You’re ashamed of your past.�
“I’m not ashamed of who you are. And the only time I would look down on you is if I were helping you back up.�
GOD!!! How could you hate that!! NO you couldn't.. and that's why Mina ended up falling head over heel for him. And when a man called you "an ART"... and went to buy pads for your period... Wow... LEV... YOU.R.THE.MAN.

Mina worked in Bleeding Heart as their relationship grew deeper. Of course, they didn't start off right away, Mina still questioned Lev's motive in saving her and Lev... well he didn't knew he wanted Mina... or even if he did, he didn't know that Mina wanted him.. there were many situation going on along the way which was really awesome as we saw the glimpse of the potential couples in the next book. there was a rival love interest, a gorgeous redhead Anika who was absolutely in love in Lev but he was clueless and thought of her as friend. There is a girl friend, Nas, a sister in the Leokov family, who was in love with a man she thought didn't love her. (view spoiler)[ But Perhaps the man did love her but made a pact with her brother not to reveal it. (hide spoiler)]There was the big brother Leokov who seemed to be an asshole... not he WAS an asshole but a really good one. (view spoiler)[ who apparently wanted Anika, the one that loved his brother. (hide spoiler)] Oh did I also mention that Lev had a daughter... like a really really beautiful 2 year-old cutie pie. But she was actually the product of deception since her mother tampered with the condom to get pregnant with her. Lev adored her to death anyway. but Lidiya's mother was a manipulative woman with a much more manipulative father who blackmailed Lev for money and tried to forced him to marry his daughter. So Lev also had to find the way to get his daughter custody.
Wow... so many things were going on... I was loving it. Obviously, their relationship finally turned fruitful. then Mina found out about Lev's Russian tradition family and its history. Needless to say, she was shock and afraid about Lev but soon learnt that Lev would never treated her with anything but love and kindness. Mina and Lev grew so much in the book. .. and I knew I almost wanted to write the whole book in the review since it was that AWESOME... but trust me there were still many other things going on in this book.. Plot-wise, this one was packed. Needless to say, I ADORED Lev and Mina. BTW, THEY are hot!! like perfect hottie couple... can I have them in real life so I can swoon over them over tea party or something!! I don't mind sitting in the corner watching them making out. Damn, Now I sounded like a pervert. LOL

What can I say... I expect it to be awesome and it IS obviously AWESOME!!! DUH!! All sort of characters and their stories are so unique and still conneWhat can I say... Their personalities are all so interesting and lovable... Their stories?? EPIC!! I really love how all the heroes are all jerks but obviously possessive gentlemen and they are not exactly best pals (in fact they hate one another and try to tolerate one another because of their brides/mates/wives) and I really love author who are not afraid to make their characters so freaking hot in both males and females.. (because as a reader, I'm vain that way.... can't help but get a lot of eye candies in my imagination... LOL)

Still, This book is so so GOOOD!! OH EM GEEE.. the story, the plot, the characters.. the TWISTS!!! OMG it was EPICness of SUPER EPIC Proportion!! LOVED IT so much!! I'm crying of happiness and ... of course misery that I would surely feel when I have 14th book in my hand and finish with it!!!
I have the major problem with the way the paragraphing is done with this book... it made me quite frustrating and reduced the epic-ness of the book. Lachlain was a major Jerk here. Well, at least for the first part when he was a arrogant Lykae who bully his mate for being a vampire. He hated and hunted vampire... understandable. He was much much MUCH improved afterward when he realised how wrong he was about who Emma truly was. By then he was quite a nice Alpha HOT MALE... YUMMY.
Emma was complicated. She was timid, very much so... so much so that I was thinking.. "WHAT THE F*CKING HELL IS WRONG WHIT YOU!@@@!?" when she simply allowed Lachlain to kidnap her... NO!! She ALLOWED him to force herself and him back to her OWN hotel room.. and allowed him to further bully and insult her in all sort of way... "WHAT THE F*CK IS THAT?>@?!" Afterward, Bleeding Lachlain allowed her to see his memories and she grew bolder... but what made her shed her Timid self was actually the fact that she realised that if she could survived Lykae Kidnapped, Vampire Attack and all, she had nothing to fear... WOW Just like that HUH!!?? I Thought it was too easy but whatever... Admittedly I loved and hated her. I really liked how she justified the feeling she had for Lachlain... She narrowed her eyes, realizing what this was. Stockholm syndrome. Surely. Identifying with your bullying captor? Check. Forming an attachment to him? Check. But in all fairness to herself, how many captors—actively acquiring—were six-and-a-half-foot-tall gods with delicious, sun-darkened skin, the coolest accent, and the warmest, hardest body she'd ever dreamed of? All this and the predilection to wrap that body around her? All this and he thought she was beautiful. Not to mention the fact that he couldn't seem to give her enough of his luscious blood.
That's right, BABE! when in romance, Stockholm syndrome only applied for HOT MALES.. other would all be kidnapper, creeper, Murderer or something-of-sorts.
Overall, the story is once again awesome... the plot is getting exciting and more characters are introduced.. If the paragraphing is better, I would have give it a 5 stars...

She is feisty sexy and crazy with a bit of madness... she has no problem with nakedness and enjoy sexiest feminine lingerie despite being a Valkyrie. Most of all she is ruthless but kind. She does whatever she wants because when one lives as long as her, one learn that life is at the blink of an eyes especially mortal... and although our hero, Nikolai is a little crazy too... they are kinda perfect for each other... Nikolai is a bit of an ass though (okay.. may be a huge ASSH*LE for what he did to Myst but...) he was also hot hard delicious vampire who is possessive and traditionally gentleman. Obviously, they are both HOT... HOTTER than HOTTTT!!!
The story... OHH EMM GEEEE... it was great and so much fun... I really love the whole concept of vampire mate... how vampire will only "blood" for his mate... be it sexual or otherwise so obviously vampire can only sire offspring with the one and only that makes their blood flow literally.
Story and character-wise... the book is full 5 stars... I had a minor problem with the writing though.. not much.. But it seem that the POV jumps around quite a bit.. so at some point I had to reread the paragraph sine the POV changes..

2 months has passed since the incident that torn the soulmates from one another. Zoey and the former R team was now Team Rogue which Kick even more Cambion Ass!!! In this book, Zoey had grew out of her old wish to live "Humanly normal". She accepted that her world was and would always be with the Succubus-Incubus society. But in this book she faced new problem, new conflict. Now that she was independently leading the hunting Team, she come to learn the difficulty of a leader, especially when other Halfling began to come to her as their new leader. the secret of the Halflings who "graduated" had been revealed and it was horrendous. Halflings were apparently "taken cared off" when they past the 22-year-old age margin when they were out of control. They escaped and found help in Zoey Team. And Zoey would never leave her brethren. But when the number hit fifty, with the Team in shortage of fund and all kinds of necessary equipment, Zoey was in the hard position as their leader. Did Declan go through this as a leader? Watching his people die? She’d never considered it before, just like she never wanted to think of how he felt after the incident that drove her away.
Because all she used to was hunting Cambions or breaking the rule and hunt Cambions in unauthorized missions, she had no idea that leadership was such a painful and difficult thing. Despite still being heart broken by Declan's supposedly betrayal, she began to understand his decisions and responsibility more. How he could make such difficult choices especially when there were sacrifice... How could he manage to keep his rage as he befriended enemies... How could he remain calm and collected about his betrayal while Zoey could not. She learnt that sometimes one had to look at the bigger picture to solve the problem at its root. In the past she and Vikki would use the numbers of Cambions they took down as a measure for success. When Zoey finally found out the truth of Declan betrayal, she was hurt not only for what he did was real but also because of the unfairness of it all. But could she still blamed him for what he did when his mind was not in control?
This book was all about trust and love and it was great. There were definitely more story going on that I didn't review. there were twist in plot everywhere. but what I love the most besides the awesome story was how Declan and Zoey saw in each other. and when Zoey finally saw future in her life. Zoey thought with her heart and overreacted to most challenges, but she was calculating enough to know when and where she needed help.
How many times had she dreamt of her own family and being normal? She’d tried to build a relationship with a human because of her desire to live apart from the Sucubatti world. She’d definitely never be like Olivia, who grew her children in a lab and pawned them off on multiple foster parents until they were old enough to be worthy of her attention. No, Zoey would teach her daughters to fight and stand up for what was right, to ignore the stupid rules that made Halflings feel unwanted and like second class citizens.
Zoey had grown so much in this book... and even Declan too. Hopefully we would have a next book too.

The emotion in the book was so raw, I felt it in every words written in this book. Both Monica and Jonathan, despite finally gotten together, were faced with much more journey to happiness. Their story did not just end when they finally loved each other. They still have to faced the consequences of their actions. Jonathan was no longer the same healthy man who seemed to be invincible. With his new heart, he was able to survive but for how long? For Monica, his almost dying experience has left her emotional vulnerable. She was afraid of his condition, terrified for his shortened life span. She turned herself from a submissive lover into a tender caring wife. And while they still loved each other, their happiness was not.... can love survive when there is no happiness? NO! Jonathan knew exactly what would happen. They would drift apart and he could not let that happen. He knew he was selfish but he could never let her go. But he also knew that he was not selfish enough to give her hope... hope that he would not die.
So they both has their own demons in their hearts... they both had questioned that they needed answers.

Personally I don't particularly enjoy couple who get off having sex with someone else. I always believe that giving oneself to another is a treasure for each to keep. However, for Xavier and Elaine, it was definitely much much more deeper and intense. It was not that Xavier didn't want Elaine so exclusively, it's that he was afraid of his illness. It was so powerful and it actually made me more understanding of their relationship. Imagine you unconsciously killed the one you loved when you had sex with her/him... yeah I suppose it was so difficult when you love someone and want to give them pleasure in anyway without killing them. That's what Xavier was. so he ended up learning to feel and give pleasure in a much different ways.
Elaine was a very strong character here. She was actually the strong one in the relationship. Xavier might be in control but she was the one who take action. She was erotically BADASS!! Although the book has the typical insta-love, their sexual tension was off the chart and their shared secrets are so f*ck-up (pardon my french) that I kinda get it. Xavier was not at all affected by the fact that Elaine's father was a psychopathic serial killer and not just in the past, he was still alive and active. In fact Xavier was even intrigued by her understanding and the way she deals and copes with her situations. Elaine was attracted to his beauty and charisma but he was also somehow the one who understands her. Elaine, on the other hand... If she had run away after hearing Xavier's secret or being ignorant like most romance book girlfriends out there, Xavier would not become ever more enamored with her... even loved her. their love was fast but it was deeply intense.
And the plot.. HOLY SHIT!! the plot is great!! like OMG PERFECTION... you have to read it even if you don't like erotic... the story in itself worth all my stars... seriously even if there is only vanilla sex here... the book is story-wise awesome...
And their conversations... OH GOD!!! I was so turned on by their bantering words of wisdom, I was swooning so bad. they talked real art and literature. it was beautiful. they also made kinky into history. W O W!!

She even dressed up for him but she guessed Martin was just really a Jerk-face he was. But then Martin found her there and he was very very furious... Hah!! like he had the right to be... right? He left her alone and unknown in the party he invited her as his date. Instead, he cozied himself with some other woman.. yeah right? like he had the right to be upset too. And what right did he have to ask what was wrong with her to hide in the laundry room when there was a PARTY going on...
He probably had since he was searching for Kaitlyn for 2 hours, worry sick that she was gone. He even go evening swimming in the caves, trying to find her. But Kaitlyn thought he would probably not noticing her since he already had another girl. Martin, frustrated that he was, explained that if she had stayed longer, she would have witnessed him turning the girl away. Kaitlyn suddenly realized her mistake that she took in conclusion too fast. However, it still did not explained his action where he left her alone. This book was about the combustion and trust between Kaitlyn and Martin. Now that they were willing to try the relationship, they had to learn more about each other and truly see what they really were. As their relationship grew further, Martin continued to prove to Kaitlyn that what they have was real and that he truly wanted her. Upon realizing that Kaitlyn was in fact a virgin, Martin was determined to make her first as perfect as possible. To Kaitlyn, having sex had to have meaning and she wanted it to be meaningful to Martin too. they ended up fooling around until she was ready.
Gosh the whole thing was hot and cute and fun!!! They were so adorable together. It was awesome.
And then she met his family which made thing went down the hill.. Happy Martin became angry Martin whenever he came in contact with his family members. Especially since his step-mother was a bimbo blonde who married because of money and his father was an asshole who married the bimbo to keep her mouth shut off his secret.... yeah. However, it was not enough to undo the thing he said or how he said it to his father... like he was using her... like he was testing her. It only showed how untrusting he was. How every sweet thing they had done were not truly REAL to him... how he actually did not truly trusted her. It made Kaitlyn questioned if she was truly matter to him.. if he truly cares.. “I never wanted to hurt you. I didn’t think I could hurt you. I didn’t expect you to freak out like you did. You never freak out about anything. I just wanted to see how you would react. I wanted to see if I mattered.
Obviously, he mattered to her. She cared for him but when he said the L word and asked her the same, she didn't know how to answer him.
They reached a stalemate after a big fight and their relationship became strained. Kaitlyn questioned herself if she truly love Martin... if she could love Martin. Martin was a complication. He was damaged, a bit of an asshole and had the fear of rejection. However, he was also very kind to her and he loved her or thought he was in love with her. Was she in love with Martin...?
Hell YEAH!! although she took some time getting to that conclusion, she finally admitted the L word and proceeded to satisfy her body need by giving him her V card. Okay that did not sound well but I swore the whole thing was hot and cute and funny. Obviously, her first time was not all rosy and pink. It was painful but Martin did well. Kaitlyn's reaction afterward was so funny. And being awesome Martin, he then proceeded to redo the experience for her.
Just when they thought that everything was going to be okay. This time, their family issue came into play again. Kaitlyn and Martin in relationship was affecting Kaitlyn's mother's career. Martin's father was using their relationship to expel her from the chair position of the Commerce, Science, and Transportation committee. As she would be in a conflict of interest. Furthermore, her mother questioned if Martin was actually part of his father's plan. But Kaitlyn believed Martin. So being a smart woman that she was, she went to discuss the problem with Martin. However, she was shock when Martin simply replied that "it was none of their business" which meant he would do nothing about it. Kaitlyn could not believe what she heard. How could he let his father destroyed her mother's entire career. Kaitlyn demanded that he went public and revealed the truth about his father but surprised, he refused.. and why? WHY?!?!? he actually had the ultimate revenge plan going on and going to public then would jeopardize his whole revenge plan and he could not let it happen... not when he only had 4 months until he turned 21.
Martin was willingly to do nothing about his father and Kaitlyn would not let their relationship destroy her mother. So there was only one thing to do... and it would break them both since.. well they had to break up. Martin was unwilling to do the right thing so Kaitlyn did. She broke up with him. Martin begged and pleaded but in the end he was still not gonna do the right thing. Kaitlyn was devastated but she finally let him go. By then, not even compromising from Martin could change her mind. In his heartbreak, Martin gave his ultimatum that they were truly DONE!!
Kaitlyn could not stop crying and yearning for Martin. She was a mess. She looked like a mess. When Kaitlyn met Martin sometimes later and realized that he looked fine. She finally got the conclusion that perhaps he did not truly love her after all..... CLIFFHANGER!!!! LOL!! (they are in parts, of course it would be a cliffhanger... silly me XP)
In this part... Kaitlyn had to learn to let her prejudice go... She had always judged Martin with her narrow view, that he was an asshole and a jerk-face. And she used that to justify every mistake in the relationship with her. She was a coward for protecting herself rather than fighting for her passion. She hid her face in her hands and refused to see the reality. Martin, on the hand, had not yet truly learn to love... correctly. He definitely loved Kaitlyn... but ultimately, he loved himself more... for he could not let go of his anger and issues with his family. He needed to understand that there might just need be two people in a relationship but the relationship came with family, friends and more.

The title of Part 1 of Elements of Chemistry could not be anymore appropriate. it was, of course, deal with the attraction between Kaitlyn & Martin. The book started off like the Bunsen Burner when Kaitlyn, a low maintenance chemistry lab partner to the gorgeous uber rich Martin, was hiding in the closet in their chemistry lab. Why was she hiding in the closet...? well that's what Kaitlyn did whenever she was nervous or sad or angry or... when there was an unknown couple entering her lab and she panicked. The mysterious couple, a girl and a boy obviously didn't know that Kaitlyn was hiding in the closet, revealed that they were plotting to drug and blackmail Martin, her lab partner at the party that night. Kaitlyn knew right away that she had to somehow warn Martin but what could she do? Martin was the college gorgeous, trust-fund rich, super smart and duper unobtainable boy who she never tried to interact outside of their chemistry project. Yeah she had been lusting after him for 2 years but she knew enough not to go for the UNATTAINABLE one... which meant she avoided him entirely outside the lab for 2 semesters. She didn't even give him her number when he wanted to exchange them. Afraid she was going to drunk-dial him and express her undying love or... lust for him... Now she had to communicate with him to warn him... Just when she decided to use her usual method of leaving him note, he arrived at the scene. The mysterious girl was already gone but the boy remained. The boy was apparently a friend to Martin and he insisted Martin to be at the party. With Martin agreeing to go, Kaitlyn just confirmed herself that she really had to warn him... but then.. he found her in the closet.
And because there was chemistry going on and I meant the passionate, lusting, loving kind... Martin somehow ended up cornering, full hot kissing Kaitlyn in that closet, turning her mind to muss. Panicked and escaped, Kaitlyn totally forgot to warn Martin about the nefarious plot against him. So she had no choice but to attend the party too. It was just so that the party was skirt-only party and her best friend forced her to wear a dress, a borrowed one since Kaitlyn had never felt a need to wear one. And Kaitlyn, a beauty that she was, had low opinion about her own appearance and did not realize or admit how attractive she was especially to the poor boy Martin. She met him. She warned him. Then somehow she ended up getting kissed by him, turning her mind into a puddle which led to her promise to stay with him for the week... the week that would change her LIFE!!!!
Obviously a lot of thing happened in that one week. Our poor boy Martin, a boy who used to get everything his way had apparently wanted Kaitlyn from the very start but Kaitlyn did not believe him and Martin could not understand why she could not believe him. Well the thing was, both Martin and Kaitlyn got issues. Kaitlyn had a very low self-esteem, not that she did not know that she was smart and a national treasure (having Senator mother, Prestigious Medical School Dean father, Astronaut grandfather and Famous Scientist grandmother), she just thought of herself as undesirable. You see, our Kaitlyn only ever had one boyfriend in her life and he turned out to be gay.. it somehow left her traumatized with her attractiveness that she herself did not realize it. So that's why she was reluctant to accept the possibility that the most gorgeous guy in the universe wanted her. Martin, on the other hand, was a boy who was used to power. He got whatever he wanted. He spoke however he wanted, cuss and all. He did whatever he wanted, even using people to do it. He was a rich kid who had survived living with a dead mother who used to love herself more than she loved her child, a father who probably hated and used him too, a disgusting step-mother who tried to have sex with him. He had major trust issues. And relationship was all about trust.
So that particular week... that faithful week was the time that Kaitlyn spent to accept that there was really a possibility that Martin actually liked her and wanted a relationship with her, that she was actually a desirable girl. Whereas Martin spent that time learning more about Kaitlyn and truly tried to trust her... to learn that sometimes, people were nice because they were nice and not because they want something in return or had ulterior motives. And that for him to be in the relationship with her, he had to trust her and himself.... and just when their attraction was starting to turn into something, a relationship challenge just had to happen... yeah CLIFFHANGER, BABY!! and... on to the second part!!
By this point, If I hadn't waited for all parts to be released, I would probably be biting my nails off, frustrating and antagonizing over the ultimate neeeeeedddd to have the next part. He was definitely a "manwhore" but the book did not actually tell us about his story as one but more of how he was no longer a "manwhore" when he met Rachel. The storyline was pretty common. How the heroine encounter the Hero through interviews... However, the plot and setting was very original and funny.... Actually, Rachel was hilarious... she was not only feisty and witty... she is also very very vocal and super smart... I mean she has smart comments on everything. I also has never met any women who was as demanding in bed as Rachel.. (despite being absolutely vanilla!! and no... Don't compare her to female Dom...)

the book starts with Rachel being given the important job of writing expose of Chicago's most desired wantedman, Malcolm Saint. This task was absolutely important to her as it might rescues her company from its downfall. and Rachel loved her job and NEEDED her job!! She was an independent woman who loved to write and dreamed of security. She also loved and grateful of her company for taken her in when she was still an undergrad and most of all she wanted to give her diabetic mother a better life. So the Expose was very very VERY important to her. Her determination to success led her to Saint, the absolutely gorgeous, toe-curling (the book used this words like... 3 times!!) beautiful, filthy rich, demanding business man and the most desired man on the freaking planet... He was so confident, he thought he ruled the world. Seriously, this man had it all and not sorry about it. In the book, he kept telling Rachel how he owned the world, how he got what he wanted, How everyone just fell on his feet... but he was not at all self-centered or selfish... he was just a very very confident person. He was also a fair and brilliant boss. Katy Evans writes a "manwhore" like a true Saint. There was not even a moment when I don't like him... Some books give us bad boys who made mistakes and at some point we didn't like them for what they did... but no... there was not a single moment I didn't like Saint... he just never ever made a mistake... like at all... he was (like Rachel said) A PERFECTION!!
So Rachel need the expose which led her to Malcolm... and of course, like triple DUH!!, she was absolutely attracted to him. the book was very funny and original in bringing them together.. there was definitely an attraction but no instra-lust or love... Both parties were very professional. they were all about their work... well until the attraction just got better of them. and I loved how Rachel was as demanding as Malcolm. She tried to separate lust with infatuation since she knew she was definitely playing with fire. She knew how men seldom changed especially when her best friend's heart was broken by an asshole. She knew that she could not hope the relationship to last... However, she did not realise that Malcolm did not have to change. Since he was always honest and true to himself. He was not what she had saw or read about him in all the gossips, news and reports. He was a manwhore because he could but it was not what he truly was. He was a man of action and she was a woman of word. He tried to show her with action when Rachel wanted word of confirmation. In the end, secrets revealed and honesty and trust were lost. Rachel had to learn to break away from her box of security and try to aim higher because sometimes it was just there for you to grab it.
One of the very important factor that I LOVEEEEDDDD the book was the writing.. this is a number of quote that I absolutely had to mention... “Picasso’s mother told him if he got into the army, he’d be a general. The book introduced us to Ruby, another gorgeous intern who worked in the same firm as Naill Stella, Max's brother. Ruby had a crush on the beautiful Naill for many months since she first met him and one could kinda considered her his stalker (she herself considered herself that) since she knew most details about him (I would say mostly professions and educations detail).. only that she never really act on her fantasy or even have any kind of contact with him other than work... watching him from afar whenever she got her chance.. I personally think that she was more a secret admirer than stalker. She was an engineer undergrad and she seemed to look up to him... but of course if she was able to be around him without turning into a mess, she would probably stalk him for real.. i don't know. LOL.
Ruby worked for Anthony, a jerk boss who enjoyed hiring young and beautiful interns. When Anthony was going for business trip in NEW YORK, let's just say she was not the only employee who was thrilled with her boss's absence for a full month. However, that feeling quickly died when he also announced that Naill was going as well. That disappointment was short-lived though because Anthony was caught up in personal situation that he had Ruby going in his stead. Ruby was both exciting and scared to be with the crush who never seemed to notice her... until now.
Naill Stella, a 30-year-old divorced man with sexy british accent.. never really noticed anyone except his job. he had one relationship. He married his childhood sweetheart and had lived with her for over a decade which turned into a failed marriage. he had no other experiences since he never tried, being devoted as he was. Not even after 2 years of divorce... not because he couldn't... he just did not really know how. He was a one-woman one-relationship man. so when he was dumped back into the market where women probably dying to get into his pants, he did not seem to know what to do.
The book deal with their relationship pretty well.. they are definitely very cute. Niall was dealing with habits. when you were in the relationship for so long, it became a sort of habit. and when you were only ever being one relationship, you had nothing to compare it with. some people feared the change in habits, in routine... because when you stopped, your life changed and some were afraid of that. That was the kind of man Niall was. and as Ruby and Niall got to know each other, Ruby wanted to change that.
Although Ruby could be kinda creepy and childish, I really like her for them. She was only 23 who could sometimes be cheeky and act like a smart-ass... most of the time, she really was smart, intelligent young lady. and she was definitely fresh and interesting... perfectly to bring out Niall out of his old routine box. I really enjoyed both of them.
The end was great too. I really like that fact that Ruby held on to her values. She knew she was going to give up everything for Niall if only he let her... she knew that she was going to be a kind of weak girl who could not survive without him. she refused to return to the man just because he came back begging. I think it was really okay for a person to take times and think it through. Love can be fast and lightning but you always need time to think about relationship because... relationship is not just about love... it's about being you and enjoy your partner being themselves and love them anyway. It's about compatibility and acceptance.. mostly happiness for both parties. So while it seemed stupid for Ruby to wait when she was already in love with Niall anyway, it was a right thing to do.. she was able to pursue her other dream... and yes true love should also allow you to do what you love... not blind you to everything.

OMG!!.. First let me just say that this book is not what I had expected. Admittedly, I hoped it is action-pack just like Throne of Glass and despite OMG!!.. First let me just say that this book is not what I had expected. Admittedly, I hoped it is action-pack just like Throne of Glass and despite the fact that this book is not as exciting as the super awesome Throne of Glass and its series, I still loved it anyway!! LOVED IT So so much that I slept at 4 am last night... this author is making me crazy with all her awesome writing... i'm dying of lack of sleep but still I can't stop myself to give it a review and 5 stars it deserved.

As I said, I expected a lot of action, a lot of bad-assness.. And for the first few chapter, Ms. Sarah J. Maas had given us a perfect character of Feyre (love her name...) Feyre was tough. her circumstances had made her strong. although she was not a trained assassin like Caleana, her character was with great potential to become just as BAD-ASS as her. And she did deliver her skill in Bow and arrow, traps and snares... she was a master of hunt.. but she actually hated hunting and loved painting. She was also vulnerable and full of "shortcomings" but she was also beautiful and a lovable character.
When Tamlin found her after she killed his sentinel, I knew it was going to be a epic turn of events. I was hoping for more actions and of course potential romance. However, I was a little disappointed that I didn't get anymore action until towards the last quarter chapters of the book. Despite so, I did get a potential romance... No. I got a really really great romantic story... and I admitted again that I actually began to like it. Unlike in Throne of Glass, We knew right away that (view spoiler)[Tamlin is Feyre's true love (unless the plot takes a major turn in the future... I hope not) (hide spoiler)]and I actually adored their time together, which ate up about half of the book. I was a little annoyed with Feyre when she was clinging to vow she made with her mother and tried to escape Tamlin futilely but I also love her for the strength and loyalty to her family... So I could never hate any of Ms. Sarah J. Maas's characters. they are so well developed and well explained and written that I really love them all. and the end... OH THE END of the book was left with a minor cliffhanger that are full of potential for even better story that I could not wait to read. It was a happy ending that did not leave us frustrated but with a tempting story and surely to come and surely make us crazy with waiting.
All in all, Ms. Sarah J. Maas's writing skill was so great, It's epic. Her books are so beautifully worded and written that it could do me no wrong. XD
