Heroine spends quite a bit of time thinking about and seeking out a ONS. While she does not get to leave with a man, the story did not make DNF at 40%

First you make a 42 year old woman "old" and wrinkly and obsessed with being too old to be seen with a man who looks to be in his mid to late 20s. She has been through a horrible marriage where she was lied to for years. So what do you do? Let's lie to her about the Hero being gay and needing a Beard so his family will lay off him finding a woman. And convincing her to hang out with him as said Beard with him "acting" gay. And this goes on the ENTIRE book. Great foundation for a relationship. Awesome. Thanks Ms. Sands for insulting more than half the population. ...more

(view spoiler)[ Hero is 3500+ years old. Had a life mate briefly when he was very young. No kids. He aged, got bored and lonely and wanted kids. So he found an immortal "friend" and has had 26 YES - TWENTY SIX - kids with this woman!!!!! The most recent being only 25! (Sherry is 32). And since you can only have 1 kid every 100 years, that means he has been hooking up with this woman for over 2600 years! But it means nothing because they never lived together. Yea right! Plus it means that Sherry would not be able to have a kid for 75 years. (hide spoiler)]
So, so wrong. I just cannot even describe how skeeved out I am by this! I was done before with this series. Now I am DONE, done!

I tried. I really did. The story had potential. But at 65% the already TSTL heroine let the m-f'ing jerk of a hero totally off the hook for something I tried. I really did. The story had potential. But at 65% the already TSTL heroine let the m-f'ing jerk of a hero totally off the hook for something that he should be shot over. I just cannot stand these Heroines! I get that she is 18, but have one ounce of self respect! So I will move on to another book and hope it turns out better!
I know some say he is possessive, alpha. I just do not agree. He has been pushing her away the entire time and goes weeks without seeing her. He is an asshat!
Safety Gang spoilers (view spoiler)[ he has picked up women while they are separated. Does not end up doing anything. But one was because he saw the heroine out on what he thought was a date, He also hired a hooker to be at his house when she came over (after almost being raped) to help drive her away. Weeks later he sees her again with another man and loses his mind. F'ing hate him! And hate her for immediately bending over for him. I think I have lost all patience. I want a hero who wants the girl!! (hide spoiler)]...more
DNF at 44%. I never DNF a book, but I cannot identify with either MC. So far I do not like them. They do not do anything bad or offensive, but they arDNF at 44%. I never DNF a book, but I cannot identify with either MC. So far I do not like them. They do not do anything bad or offensive, but they are not characters I care to read about. I like the women to be women and men to be men. So far, neither is very true. I don't mind different or women in traditionally male roles, but Harley is immature, over the top and relishes acting crude, rude and like a 16 year old boy. I just cannot find anything attractive about her. Nolan get manicures (sorry - I am judgey), slept with her and then ignored her for a week because he certainly does not want to like her. Dude - MAN the fuck UP! I have to put this away and move on. ...more
