Good book. A little immature but likable characters. Would recommend as a quick read! On a second reading...this is better than good. I really loved Jonah and Raven.
Safety Gang spoilers (view spoiler)[ book opens with a ridiculously unnecessary scene with OW. I would have believed his man-ho ways without having it thrown in my face. But Jonah is totally into Raven the moment he meets her. He never waivers and is awesome. They are young. She is a virgin. But not surprising with her history! It was sweet with a good amount of outside drama. The OW from opening scene does later make a scene in front of Raven and proves to be a pain in the ass. But it is not like women are being thrown in her face. And Jonah is totally gone for her. <\spoiler> (hide spoiler)]...more

Wow. I have read it a million times. Listening on audible for the first time, I must say that Ava was more annoying than I remember. Probably because it was harder to skim her parts when she gets like that. Overall, I have a thing for Jesse Ward and his brand of crazy. But this time through it was harder knowing what he was doing when they were separated than it normally is.
I am not sure what to say about this book that has not been said. Jesse is crazy, OTT obsessed. But he has a HORRIBLE past - both at his own doing and beyond his control. Many people cannot get over that, and I understand. There are also things discovered in book 2 that will totally turn people off; so please go into this story well informed.
I love Jesse. But Jesse would never, ever be a real life BF for me. His behavior is totally unacceptable and he does totally unforgiveable things. But for some crazy reason, in this series, I can love him anyway.
Ava takes some patience. She is annoying. She is young but thinks she is all grown up. I get that Jesse is OTT, but her reactions are not always mature. She is so hot and cold, I get whiplash. But Jesse adores her so I put up with her for him ;-)
Safety Gang (view spoiler)[ while what you read in this book is technically safe, save for some stupid little make the other one jealous stuff, this series is NOT SAFE!!! We do not experience the not safe part, but it still happened. There is OW and OM drama, all day, all the time. I cannot imagine anyone in the Safety Gang enjoying this unless they read it before they became sensitive and, like me, have an unhealthy attachment to Jesse that goes beyond my sensitivities. I enjoyed this book a lot. It had some good intrigue, likable and strong characters and the great grandma was awesome! Raiden has found his very on version of "Peggy Sue". And I love that a) she is so comfortable in her skin and b) he loves that about her and does not want her to change. ...more

This was super hard to read. The subject matter was hard and I found myself blaming Hector for not making a move and waiting Sadie out. I really hated what he did the day she asked for help and I had a hard time forgiving him. Especially after the OW scene.
But this is KA and I love the Rock Chicks so it is a re read when I re read the entire series, like I just did.

While I like this book, Mitch is not my top all time favorite leading man. Just not alpha enough. And the heroine can by downright annoying! Mitch is sweet and tough and I adore him for what he does, but 2 kids are quite the damper on a new relationship and it was not something I wanted to escape to. The epilogue made me cry! It was so awesome!...more
re read via audio. Have read or listened to this multiple times. Tack is my second favorite KA hero out of all her books. So I openly disclose my compre read via audio. Have read or listened to this multiple times. Tack is my second favorite KA hero out of all her books. So I openly disclose my complete bias towards this book!
I love the relationship, the struggles, the times together, the sweet words, just about everything. Even the crazy OTT violence at the end seemed to fit. I cry when I read or hear Tack talk about Dream Women every time.
I loved Tyra. I thought she was a kick ass heroine. "Feel good?" Best line/scene of the book. She was also smart, accepting, funny, sweet and sassy. Rarely did I disagree with her decisions. But when I did, I got her and why she did what she did.
Tack was...well...he was just awesome. He was not afraid of falling or being in a relationship or in love. He was posessive, smart, sweet, and just all around "Hawt".
I really liked most of the secondary characters. Her aunt and uncle were great. Loved seeing Cade, Mitch & Brock again. But Gwen really reaffirmed my dislike of her. Loved Rush and liked Tabby.
This book starts out rough. Really rough. Honestly, I skip the first chapter when I re read. It is burned in my brain and I have no need to relive it. But from there I loved all of it. Minus the single other scene with BeBe (bitch whore).
If you can make it past a tough beginning it is totally worth it! Watching them fall in love is a beautiful thing.
Safety gang issues (view spoiler)[ Many of my SG peeps will not like this book! H/h hook up at an MC party and have sex. Same night they meet. To him it is a ONS that could be a repeat if it works out. He kicks her out before morning because he has shit to do. She did not leave her number. He did not expect to see her again. She was devastated when he kicked her out. This is all retold from her memory not seen live. He hooks up with a club whore the next night. Heroine knows this because as she arrives for work the next morning she watches him kiss her goodbye. It cuts deep. Deeper than being kicked out of his bed. She thought they had fallen in love over tequila shots and great sex. Naive on her part. He does not know that she is the new office manager of his custom car shop. You can see where this is going! But this is the first chapter. So if you can get through it, the book is great. The hero chases her, is faithful, possessive and determined. He explained what happened to them that night and I got it. Of course, I hate that he hooked up the next night. It is gross. But I understood what he said. The heroine struggled with it but it did not overwhelm the story. There are a couple of references during arguments and there is one other scene with the club whore that gets nasty. But that is it.
Tack has a bitch of an ex and two teenage kids.
Condoms are not used and I do not recall them being discussed. Maybe I missed it.
There is violence in this book. Not overly detailed. But his 16 year old daughter is hit by her boyfriend and the heroine is badly injured in the hands of some bad guys. No sexual assault. (hide spoiler)]...more
