Having the hero screw another woman after talking all about how much seeing Juliette’s picture did things to him. And it was detailed. Not a fade to black. Really poor choice from the author. Me that I know she is ok with this I’ll stop reading her books.

Hero is a total manwhore. Seriously disgusting. Meets Danica, but continues checking out other women in her face. They go separate ways. He is thinking about her, saying he doesn't want another woman, but as soon as one hits on him - THE SAME DAY - he screws her in the bathroom. Yes, it is detailed and absolutely disgusting that he is thinking about Danica, but cannot control himself. And he is a 35 year old man! So I am OUT!
I doubt I will pick up any other book in this series now. Such shame because i liked MF's Whiskey series. ...more

First, I am very clear about how I want my "mate" stories. This was NOT that. But I will ignore that because I hate the hero notwithstanding the fact that he knows all along she is his mate and that fate will eventually bring them together no matter what he does in the meantime.
So here it is.
If you meet a woman and like her (forget about her being you MATE) and you want her to "take you seriously" here are a few hints of things NOT to do!
Do NOT continue FUCKING every woman you can get your hands on Do NOT brag about said fuckings to the woman you are trying to get to "take you seriously" Do NOT express your jealousy to HER about a mutual friend having a random hookup in the bathroom that you are missing out on! Do NOT brag to her about your skills with your dick and mouth that so many others have experienced and complemented!

I skimmed the remainder of the book and read the bonus chapter about Acheron since folks raved about it. What the fuck did they read? Because I read a chapter that was totally ruined by the bitch goddess being included in such an intimate moment. Is the author seriously trying to redeem her sick ass? NEVER! I was so angry I just put it away for a couple of days. Calmer now I have decided to mark as a DNF because I did not read all of the pages and not give it the 1 star it deserves.

I have no idea if the writing improved. Still head jumping which I hate. But I was too consumed by the train wreck that is Duke. He has got to be one of the biggest assholes I have read in a long time! Such a complete and total alcoholic dick! Not to mention a CHEATING asshole!! I cannot even get into all of the issues without writing a novel so just save yourself some time and sanity and skip this terrible fucking book!...more
