Listen... I couldn't care less about poetry, but I was behind this month and wanted to pick up something short, and since I love the title and the author, this was my choice.
Imagine me reading the first poem, being shocked and absolutely crushed by it, reading it again at least 3 times in a row, then just sitting in shock again for a few another minutes, processing what was happening to me. Now it is my inspirational and emotional support bible. Like I couldn't tell if the hurt or the healing it caused was stronger.
There was a few that didn't touch me, because it was the continuation of Katie's first poetry collection The Sweetest Kind of Poison about a toxic relationship, and I haven't been in one, but the rest spoke directly to my soul.
And if this is what good poetry supposed to do, I want more. Please, recommend me your favorites....more

I honestly think Sarah outdid herself with this one. So far my favorite of hers was her debut, What Are Friends For?, but now these two are tied. If you couldn't tell, I'm a sucker for best friends to lovers, especially because all her stories are so healthy both romance-wise and just in general. A scene from this book became one of my all time favorites, and honestly, I just got the urge to write fanfiction witt these characters, because what they have going on is exactly my kind of thing.
But now I've finished both books I wanted to read during Christmas, so I'll be on a hunt for a new one.

Dead children, living children, unborn children, foster children, secret children... anything you can imagine, this series has it. Just like it has these "broken" men, who need these women to love them and save them and fix them. Not kidding. If I got a dollar every time I heard "I'm broken" and "he's broken", I would be rich. Not to mention they were pretty much the same.
Sorry, I don't want to be upsetero, but I've read five of these books in a week (because they were easy to listen to during work), and the amount of hetero bullshit I had to consume was too much for me. It had it's moments, but it's time to move on. ...more

Spoiler alert: I've read all of them backwards, except for the first one, because that is about an actress and her bodyguard, and I don't care about famous people.
Well, reading a series backwards is an experience on it's own. Even though they could be read as standalones, the prevoius couples were already together and there were things I should have known, but it didn't ruin my enjoyment at all.
What ruined my enjoyment, was the overprotectiveness of the guy at the beginning and that halfway through the girl left uni and we knew something happened there, but she didn't tell anything about it, even when we were in her pov. Keeping the reader in the dark when you know, I know, everyone knows something happened is just utterly frustrating. Also, it was something totally different and so random, like a thriller subplot was woved into this romance.
And y'all know how much I despise epilogues with kids X years later. And this time it wasn't even just them. It was all three books's couples with all of their kids. Like give me a gun.
But the romance part was actually okay, I enjoyed it most of the time. If it was so bad, I wouldn't have read the rest of series....more

My copy arrived yesterday, and I couldn't wait till Christmas. Sue me.
Also here's the cutest quote:
"You must be Laura," she says, reaching out to Weston's mom for a handshake. "I'm Michelle. And these must be your kids-I'm sorry, I can't remember their names." "My son Weston," Mrs. Ludovico introduces us. "And Tessa isn't mine-not yet, anyway."
