ShYa'll, it's no secret that Tessa is one of my favorite writers. I've probably said this before, but I'd read the phone book if she were the author. She always finds a way to make her characters a little different and quirky, yet relatable and relevant. Hallie definitely fit that bill as the unorganized gardener who needed a little guidance, especially when matched against our hero, Julian. These two characters could not have been more different, but it's true what they say: opposites attract, and while Hallie needed someone in her life to help her (for lack of a better term) 'clean up' a little, Julian definitely needed someone to make his life a little bit messy. And their chemistry was amazing.
My only issue was that I really thought the letters would be a bigger part of the story (considering the title of the book). It felt like there would have been more letters exchanged, and a bit more connection between the characters in secret while they were growing together in person.
All in all, though, as usual, Tessa knocked it out of the park with the start to this latest series, and I'm looking forward to what's next!...more

I even remember finishing the second book in this series, and hoping this one would be April and Mitch’s story.
I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED, YA’LL. NOT EVEN A LITTLE. Mitch was perfection in a book boyfriend, and this is definitely one of those books I’ll forever wish I could go back and read again for the first time.
We’ve seen glimpses of both April and Mitch in the other two books in the Well Met series, but getting to know them both on a deeper level brough so much depth to their characters. April has always come off a bit standoffish, and Mitch, well…he’s the flirty giant who everyone, including his family sees as the young guy who doesn’t take anything serious. And that includes April.
When these two run into each other and Mitch steps in to save April from a creep at the bar, an unlikely friendship forms, and Mitch agrees to help April renovate her house so she can sell when her daughter, Caitlin leaves for college in a few months.
Turns out Mitch also needs a little favor: a fake-girlfriend to save him from his family.
As these two get to know each other, of course the lines get a little blurry on whether their relationship is real or fake, but honestly, I don’t know that there’s a woman alive who wouldn’t fall in love with Mitch....more

She's made me love her world, her characters, their growth and everything in between...though I have to admit that this one did not hit the romance mark for me. This felt more like a growth story than a love story, wherein I was far more interested in where the future would take Lulu instead of where it was going to lead Lulu and Dex (you remember the boys' in kilts, right??). And while I did love the book simply for the fact that it took me back to Jen's little Faire world, and I enjoyed seeing Lulu come into her own, I didn't love that there wasn't much to the love story aspect. It didn't feel quite genuine until the very end. It was very much assumed, and I was hoping for more. Make no mistake though: I will read everything Jen writes in the future!...more

I have all of this extra time on my hands! You’d think I’d be spending it reading, and I’d be knocking out books left and right. That has not been the case so far. I’ve been in a complete rut.
So…thank goodness for you, Tessa Bailey. You’ve managed to nail yet another series where I’ve loved and adored every book.
I was so excited for Bethany and Wes story after devouring—and loving—Travis and Georgie’s book, and then Dominic and Rosie’s book. It’s usually the third book where the author loses me, but man, I have to admit that this one might be my favorite of the three. There’s just something about a bull-riding cowboy who gives good swoon
Bethany Castle wants nothing to do with Wes Daniels. Not a single thing. Okay, maybe that’s not totally true, but Wes doesn’t fit into the perfect life Bethany’s created for herself. He wasn’t part of her plan. All she wants is to branch out from her current position in the family business as the staging guru and run her own flip.
She’s tired of doing the same old thing, and it isn’t until she discovers the new family flip is located directly across the street from her house that she finally gathers the courage to stand up for herself…and Wes (swoonily) becomes her Zellweger, that everything in Bethany’s life gets a bit…messy, because now she can’t avoid him, or the adorable niece he’s in town to help take care of... so what's a girl to do? Embrace the mess with Wes....more

CLo can do no wrong in my eyes; I am their forever fangirl of all of their words, characters, and stories. I fully admit though: this one was different. The voice didn't feel like a CLo book when I first started it. They normally have a vibe to their novels. Don't ask me to explain it. They hook me good and fast like a good book should, every single time. The hook was just a little more subtle this time, but oh, it happened. It was slow and sweet and it hurt, and by the time I was texting C to say: “DYING. I AM DYING, I was fully immersed in the future of Tate and Sam’s lives. I couldn’t put this one down until I knew how everything would work out.
Tate Jones is a girl from Guerneville, California. A small town close to the Russian River. Her Nana, Jude, owns a bakery, and people line up outside for her homemade pies. Nana and Tate are on the trip of a lifetime; visiting London for the first time together while Tate’s mom is holding down the fort at home.
Sam Brandis and his grandfather, Luther, who are from Vermont also happen to be visiting London. After a chance meeting, and some room swapping, it’s not long before Tate and Sam forge a friendship that turns into more.
Tate confides her secrets in Sam. Like, oh yeah, she’s not Tate Jones. She’s actually Tate Butler, and her father is one of the biggest movie stars in the world. Tate has no idea that trusting Sam and revealing all of her secrets—not to mention maybe falling in love with him too—will turn her entire world upside down.
Fourteen years later, Tate Butler is an actress herself, and she’s ready for the role of a lifetime with a script she absolutely adores until she finds out who wrote it, and the past comes rushing back.
These ladies impress me so much with every book they write, because they were already good—duh—but they just keep getting BETTER. I don’t know how they do it, or what kind of deals they made with the devil, but girls, I love you both, and don’t ever stop doing what you do because it’s what you were born for: to create; to entertain. Bravo, ladies. Ready for the next one!...more
