**spoiler alert** Started off as a 5 star read for over half the book but turned turning towards 4, 3, and *almost* a 2 star read. And its all because**spoiler alert** Started off as a 5 star read for over half the book but turned turning towards 4, 3, and *almost* a 2 star read. And its all because of the hero. Goddam this man was cruel. I enjoyed his character for most of the book but closer to the end he made me sick to my stomach. at 90% he still had not said "I love you" to the heroine and makes her believe she will become his mistress while he marries someone else AND will separate her from their new born son just so he can snuff out the villain. It all just seemed so cruel and unnecessary, and it made me sad for heroine. This was one of the few books where I wished better for the h.
Lets talk about her for a moment. She was fucking AMAZING. Yes, she did forgive the hero way to easily each and every time he hurt her (and it was quite often) but she still stood up for herself and let the hero know she would not be a cowering woman in the corner. I wished she ended up with a hero that loved her unconditionally, that would get on his knees and BEG for forgiveness. There needed to be grovel to end all grovels. There was zero grovel and zero begging for forgiveness.
I'm ranting about all this, because despite being disappointed with the ending and the hero, I really enjoyed it. Books that get a reaction from me are always welcome. I read the whole thing in one sitting and couldn't put it down and definitely interested to read more of the series. *not the first one though cause theres sex with OW*
Safety: Extreme virgin h with manwhore H but its not flaunted in the readers face. No other people before or after they meet. Slight OW drama in the form of the H's long time friend who he used to hook up with Lots of off and on page violence. Quite a bit of it done to the h by the H. Emotionally distant H that hurts the h with words and actions (I.e. pushing away for almost entire book) ...more

On a scale of 1 to 10 on paranormal alpha hero awesomeness this H was an obedient poodle. The story started out really amazing and I thought I had a real winner but as the story went on I became more annoyed with the starry eyed, do-gooder heroine, the H that was never around, and the fact that the H and h only spent 25% of the book actually together. Heroine was constantly with other secondary characters and inviting them into the scene so there was almost never any one-on-one time with the hero.
I’ll read the next book in this series, as the plot and characters intrigued me, but I’m gonna need more chemistry and depth to the MCs to enjoy it. ...more

This was a damn soap opera that included: dead parents, past marital affairs, suicide attempt, car crashes, comas, stalkers, blackmail, villainous characters, rape accusations....oh and LOTS of crying. Heroine literally cried for half the dang book. And I guess romance was somehow mixed with all of that.
Safety: She with exception. Both H and h kiss one other person after they meet. Hero thinks about heroine when he's kissing OW and stops it before it gets any further. And ditto for the heroine. I didn't mind it because the H was in no sense a manwhore. Lots of pushing away but thats the nature of this "taboo" plot. ...more

This was just a mess. I really hated the heroine in the beginning, liked her somewhat in the middle, then lost all faith in her character by the end. This was just.... *heavy sigh*... another book in the long line of 2018 "what on earth did I just read" novels this year. Everything from the characters to the plot/situational drama was just so out there. The heroine was written as if the author was a 14 year old writing what she thought an adult with a fashion career was like. Apparently the MC's are somewhat famous?! I don't understand why the author is trying to make us believe that tabloids would have pictures and headlines of the heroine, who is a complete nobody, on the cover. You know who's on the cover of every tabloid? Jennifer Anniston. This heroine was for sure not Jennifer Anniston. But I digress...
The magic is in the details, and this book had no details. Just giant plot holes that caused me to be confused all throughout the book. She was poor, but she owned a 18 million dollar mansion. The hero family is rich and has a castle but lives in the heroines fathers house.. Nothing was adding up.
And another thing, I wish authors would move away from the heroines past relationship ending because of cheating. Its sooooo lazy, you really couldn't think of any other reason?!!
And that ending.. was a trash ending. She literally falls down the stairs at a fashion show and breaks both legs * I repeat, BOTH OF HER LEGS* and then she gets high on drugs in the hospital where the hero finally hears her say the "I love you."........Great.
Safe Hero was almost too perfect. Celibate for awhile and says the "I love you" in under a week (I think, I was confused by the timeline) Heroines ex causes some drama but nothing too bad. No OW drama. ...more

This was lacking any type of love, passion, or emotion for me. The most romantic thing the hero said to the h was "you're enough." *swoon* Book boyfriend alert. NOT. He didn't do anything to deserve the heroine's love and didn't show me anything, the reader, that they would have a HEA. From his character and his development, I would bet he would be unfaithful in a year tops. Thats no bueno.
Heroine might as well have been a blow up doll for the hero to rut into. Harsh? Yes. But she was literally the only person in the entire book that had minimal sexual experience. All of the other female characters were "slutty" and "easy."
Soooo much OW drama it was insane. So unnecessary to the plot or his character development. He had sex with almost every female character that made an appearance.

And
"BUT I can promise you this. My books will always be safe. Always. And there will always be growth with conflict because without it it’s not a story worth telling."
So color my fucking Gobsmacked when I read one of her books with a disgusting excuse for cheating. So the author either lied right to her (formally faithful) readers OR she doesn't know what safe means. You can figure out what "safety" means being on GR for 5 minutes so, clearly, she choose to lie.
*Disclaimer* I decided to read it knowing it was as bad as everyone said it was, but I still had to form my own opinion.
Im hurt and I feel like I was personally cheated on. And I'm gonna rant about this because I fucking CARE goddamit. Some people don't take reading romance too seriously but I do. These characters are real from the moment I pick up the book until I put it down. I'm an invested reader, and if youre writing is good enough, then that is what it makes me so fucking angry that P. Dangelico can write but this time she went back on her word for cheap drama. I'm disappointed and grossed out.
The cheating got this book 1 star. Take it from a person (me) who has been cheated on in a past relationship. IT HURTS YOU TO YOUR CORE. And you can forgive all the live long fucking day but you will never ever ever FORGOT. I will always look back on that failed relationship and question WHY he cheated. And the fact that the reason for the H's cheating is to make himself a martyr so she can succeed.... fuck you. And fuck cheaters.
Cheating is never sexy. Its never romantic. And its certainly never acceptable to me as a form of angst. And "bad boys" will always always ALWAYS be second best to respectable MEN.
Characters were meh. Even if this book didnt have "the incident" I would have rated it a low 3.
I suggest this author go back to the drawing board and see why Wrecking Ball has maintained a 4.22 star rating while this drops to 3.8....more

I know I shouldn’t rate a book if I only read the first third but this is a special case.
Meet Ari, the heroine who’s your typical born again virgin: (from h’s best friend) “Mr. Tall, Dark, and Handsome has awakened my best friend from her long nap of celibacy and disinterest in men. Where’s my phone? I need to record this moment.
Meet Thorn, the handy dandy fuck trumpet that’s also a stripper/whore: “Babe, usually doesn’t take me this long to get a woman to fall at my feet, so don’t beat yourself up for taking you this long.
And we also got the woe-is-me inner monologues from the heroine over how broken she is so she sits off in a corner and stays celibate for seven years.
But don’t forget her annoying as fuck BFFFFFFFF Piper who choses to stay in an emotionally abusive relationship for 15 years while pretending to be a sexually obnoxious fairy godmother to the h.
Does this story sound familiar to you? Because I’m pretty damn sure I’ve read this over 50 times.
So fucking over this. Ugh

As I was reading I kept thinking "Do something different than the usual cut and paste rich H/poor h romance! Anything! Please I beg you!" I thought I was going to get this independent heroine but she was pretty weak in my eyes. Just because you give her a juicy backstory doesn't mean she has backbone in the present setting. Heavens to betsy, give the girl at least a fighting chance! The second scene the MC's share together and she's kneeling at his feet already.
I did end up liking it overall. I just wish the author had done literally ANYTHING to make her own story stand among the thousands of others just like this. Especially the ending was quite mediocre and unoriginal. Heroine plays martyr and is driven away from the hero from an outside factor of the story. *SNORE* In this case it was the mother of H and she wanted to pay the heroine to go away forever or else she would sabotage her own sons future. Realistic? No. Overdone? To the extreme. ...more

I really tried team. I just can't handle the asinine characters, and let me tell ya, there was not one character I liked. Theres this trend in MC romance where the hero's go on these long winded misogynistic monologues about "being a man and his woman needs to submit to him" sprinkled with romance-y verbiage to make it sound nice. this is not my jam. I felt the hero didn't respect the heroine at all, and the heroine lets him plow over her at every chance he gets. We also have the obnoxious best friend and one of the old ladies that becomes an 'Insta-friend.' On top of that we had some good old fashion manwhores and slut shaming to top it off.
There were a lot of things wrong with this but the thing that truly made me cringe was when the President of the motorcycle club is talking to the heroine and he says something like, "You would put your BFF in danger like that?" I'm sorry but what male motorcycle gang member would ever say BFF in a serious conversation?? Like does the author read her own writing? (*ugh* why am I so picky)
And theres also this really bizarre scene where the heroine goes to throw eggs at a high school?? And then gets upset when a rotten egg gets in her hair because she mentions it like... 80 times. I was just like "what the actual fuck am I supposed to be reading here?"
Side note: I live in Philly and there are quite a few MC gangs in the area. NONE of those men are even remotely attractive so its getting harder to picture all of these bikers having three ways with 'sweet-butts' and whatnot. ...more

What I love about this series, and this author, is the heros of her books truly respect their heroines. Their affection for them isn't just skin deep and the heroines are always super bad ass I LOVE that. Theres never any useless OW drama or any overdone plot devices that are typically used. Every time Ms. Wroth comes out with something new I IMMEDIATELY drop everything I'm doing to read her books.
So why not 5 stars? Because I'm a total hypocrite thats why. I typically stay away from heroines that are emotionally stunted, as I find them to be annoying and insufferable. Alec (the heroine) was definitely emotionally stunted and I was indifferent to her for nearly half of the book. I was half convinced she was asexual. But an emotionally vacant hero? I'm all in. Give me ten of those any day of the week. So I think its a testament to the authors writing that she can give me a suffering heroine, and still make her a strong woman and a total fighting bad ass. I just wish the heroine had made the turn sooner in the book so we didn't get as much pushing away.
Safety gang: Totally 100% safe. -Heroine is a virgin. Hero has had past experience but it was very clinical to him. Definitely not a manwhore, and I imagine he was celibate for some time before he met the heroine. -Pushing away from both sides. Hero knew heroine was his mate from the moment he meets her but pushes her away and theres a years separation between the couple. I didn't mind it because the author gave a good reason for it. Definitely a double standard, but I can't stand it when the h is the one doing the pushing away, so thankfully this was the complete opposite.
I think the reason why I liked this so much was because the h wasn't insecure. She knew Aiden struggled to show his feelings so she let him take the lead and struggle with his emotions on his own time. Do I wish she had made him grovel more? Yes. But otherwise she was definitely the stronger of the two MCs. Personally, I thought his reasons for pushing away were stupid. Buck up, dude. You're not the only one with issues. His back story was obviously more abusive than hers was but still, his character was emotionally immature. Besides his back story, I thought this was a solid read. After all, the ones that are more resistant to love usually are the ones that fall the hardest, right?
The villain of the story was refreshing too. Not every romance villain has to be a crazy psycho ex boyfriend.
Will probably skip the next one. Looks like the h is the one doing all the emotional drama llama. ...more
