The heroine was pathetic and the hero can suck his own dick. The heroine has a history of domestic abuse so when the hero starts punching walls two minutes after they meet, the heroine is OF COURSE "strangely attracted to him." She also sprains her ankle falling on the floor after running into the Hero's "rock hard body" (give me a fucking break with this plot devise.) Then an hour later they start sucking face and the heroine thinks to herself for the third time "clearly i need my head examined." Yeah, no shit you do. This was all in the first chapter. Not moving on from there. ...more

ThI absolutely realize I'm in the minority when i say this, but I'm only now realizing that Raine Miller's writing/characters just don't work for me. The boring-personality-manwhore Heros and the cry-me-a-river heroines just don't work for me anymore. I was tricked by the beautiful cover, thinking this was going to be passion filled romance. In the end the Hero seemed like a rich posh loser and the h wasn't holding any of my attention. ...more

But I really didn't like this at all for a lot of reasons. I've waited for this book for so long and I couldn't even finish it because it was so bland. There was nothing original in this CEO and slum-girl-millionaire plot. I thought the writing was bad and the characters were one dimensional. Everybody was too sparkly and perfect. It almost seemed like the first and secondary characters were all cartoon versions of themselves. I really hated Paige, Mallory's best friend, so I don't even know if ill bother with her book. Alexa Riley writes AMAZING hero's but Miles/Oz didn't even come close to saving this book. Instead of coming off as obsessive and passionate he came off as pathetic and a whip who was begging for scraps of attention from the h (which isn't sexy at all.) This was like a culmination of 2016 trapped in a book; disappointing and could have been better. ...more

So you'll get my random ramblings instead. -Only reason why this book gets 2 stars is because the hero was celibate for ten tears. -No details on the heroines sexual experience. -Ooo great a veteran heroine for once!! Anndddddd she's dumb as rocks -How did this woman survive in Iraq, she's brainless -Of course she didn't join the army to serve the country; she joined the army to "run away from her problems." -The OW drama was completely unnecessary and made a stupid book even more stupid -The villain is trash. He's like a cartoon of a cartoon of a villain. -Why is everyone so melodramatic - "He won't want a girl thats broken" is probably the most over used line in romance and its utter shit. - Hero: "I have to push her away!" *kisses heroines best friend "yeah good plan." Me: *facepalm* - Literally every character in this book is dumb as shit. ...more

I was so looking forward to this but i DNF'ed pretty early. I just can't stand when heroines cause their own suffering, the this h is a complete suffering-silence-type character. Someone needs to tell the world, and NA authors, that high school is no longer like the 80s and no longer has the same stereotypes. You're not a "loser" if you're in band or in art and electives are celebrated not torn down by the "cool kids." The H was kind of a douche too for no real reason but to make himself seem mentally superior. ...more

I wanted to punch the heroine so many times I lost count. BUT I also kinda loved her because she had a level of realness a lot of books lack. She was annoying, insecure, stupid, oblivious, and a doormat but she was real. She came off as one of the most realistic heroines because she gave up so much to a man who would never love her. Typically, women are very unselfish how they care for other people and men take and take and take without giving back. So when she finally finds a man who loves her and can give her epic love, she's of course hesitant giving her heart up again. I will not being reading the next book about Cameron. The only way I would be satisfied is if he drowns himself. He doesn't deserve love at all.
Safety gang: Lol this shit ain't safe at all but I would recommend if you ever wanted to push your boundaries. I would not have read this if I had found more spoilers with the one scene but I'm glad I did....more

And the h's internal monogue was driving me up the wall: "Russell wasn’t that bad. He was completely safe and kind. I try to defend the man I dated for a few months. But it’s not a good defense because Russell was a bit of a dud. *eye roll* I seriously cannot stand it when h is proud of the fact that she dates 'safe' guys so she doesn't get hurt. get over yourself
