Linger (The Wolves of Mercy Falls #2)
By: Maggie Stiefvater
Linger is written in the different view points of Grace, Sam, Isabel, and Cole. I usually do not like books that are written like this but Stiefvater pulls it off well. The transitions from person to person are smooth and easy to get into the grove of.
First I read Shiver again to refresh my memory on the story and how that book ends (it had been a long time, and many books since I had read it the first time) so I knew what to expect in the beginning of the book. Linger starts off a couple months after Shiver ended and goes from there. I do not want to reveal any spoilers, but there are a lot of things that you do not expect in this book.
From the prologue I had my suspicions on how the book was going to end
(and I was partially right), but all through the story I was surprised. I kept feeling that this book was not going to have the same quality that Shiver did to me, but know I feel that Stiefvater definitely lived up to the expectations. I will say that I hate books that end in cliff hangers and this one has a small one that leaves you wishing that Forever would be releasing tomorrow.
Overall I gave Linger a 4/5 stars because I truly did like it. I will be anticipating Forever's release to see how this story ends.
