This one is a lot better than the first one. Beautiful Creatures was too long, with the endless questions of Lena about herself, and about what was going to happend to her in her 16th birthday. Well, Lena barely appears in this one, and that leave us without her constant insecurity, but it still has some problems.
First of all, I got a little tired of the birthday thing. Alright, we all know that Lena is going to have to choose a side, Darkness or Light but, two books later, there's no resolution to the matter (JUST PICK ONE ALREADY, WE WILL ALL GROW OLD WAITING). And, when all seems to be on the edge of resolution, the storyline picked a middle way, the easy way out. I didn't like that at all.
The book itself it's kind of monothematic, I mean, an entire book of "I have to find Lena". It doesn't get boring, but neither has big surprises. If I have to define this book, I would say that is a smooth road. Enjoyable, but not memorable, not exciting.
I liked it, but that's all, without big impressions.
