While the book is entertaining and enjoyablet, he horrible sexism is unbelievable. Just because you acknowledge the sexism and are horrified by it, doesn't mean it's not sexist. It's still sexist if the character then goes ahead and tolerates it because that's just the way the culture is. By tolerate it, I mean let herself be dragged into it again and again, even though she isn't part of it and it hurts her. These men treat her like crap and she mostly lets them. They put her in horrible danger but it's okay, they couldn't help it. Let's just humor him. The reality is that in humoring, he gets all the power and control. Just because you're going along voluntarily doesn't make it okay. Stay the fuck away!

I full explain this in detail in my review of the second book. But here's a snippet from the review. that I don't think is a spoiler for this book, but just in case, I'll put it in tags: (view spoiler)
