The Princess and the Fangirl (Once Upon a Con, #2)

Ashley Poston knows how to write fandoms and cons. Between this book and Gerekerella, I've gotten so much fandom/con-love and they never fail to make me smile. This time we follow Jessica Stone, the actress who plays Princess Amara and her look alike, Imogen Lovelace. These two cross paths after a case of mistaken identity right before a panel. Jess struggles to connect with Imogen when the fans like Imogen better. The two girls decide to call a truce and switch places parent trap style during the con.
I don't know if I liked either of the girls better; however, I was slightly more invested in Jessica's storyline more than Imogen's. While Imogen's romance was cute in all the right places, there was something about Jess falling for a fan AND a girl that made my heart flutter. I think I need more f/f romances in general though.
I liked that Imogen and Jessica weren't completely flat characters. They each had other qualities besides their main defining one. Jess was constantly struggling with anxiety and dealing with bad treatment from thousands of fans. Imogen was struggling with her image apart from the Save Princess Amara campaign.
I loved getting to know the cast of Starfield even more through this continuation. The cameos from Darien and Elle made me smile so much and I loved seeing them again! Overall, this was such a cute and geeky read!
