it was ok

I guess I'm with the minority on this one. The writing is pedantic and the mid-western small town values stuff although quaint at first gets a bit sickening after a while...and saying WalMart saved a small town???? I liked the stories about Dewey. He does sound like a wonderful cat. On the other hand, I've met many wonderful cats. And the author tends to anthropomorphize a lot. I just don't think cats can reason in a human way as the author seems to think Dewey did. I liked how he brought the town together and just "did his job" by making people happier, though. But this book just didn't blow me away like I thought it would.
