Dr. Angelou Memoir #2

A warm and engaging continuation of Maya Angelou's memoirs, most notably her masterpiece "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings".

This is an entertaining, and heartfelt account of Angelou's experimentation into different and diverse professions: sex work, waitressing, dancing, performing; caring for her son Clyde, “Guy Bailey Johnson; exploring her relationships with her mother Vivian Baxter, her beloved brother Bailey, a humorous attempt at joining the US Army, and looking for love in all the wrong places.

But written with her trademark wit and aphorisms about life, "love is blind and hides a multitude of faults" (Angelou 135), it is vintage Maya Angelou reminiscing about a life that had been filled with adventure, lots of ups and downs and perseverance.
