You know when you read a book that feeds your brain nutritious, healthy mind-food? You know when you feel completely satisfied with a book after you read it, but strangely it takes you a while to start reading again? Well, this book was NOT like that.
This book, instead of feeding my brain, took it on a jog. It worked it out, made me think, made me live that book. I have not read a book like that in a long time.
When I was done, I felt completely awake. I felt alive, though sad. What book does that? When's the last time YOU'VE read a book that instead of making you regret you finished it, made you feel alive?
This book also made me very sad. I don't know why, but this book really spoke to me, to the parts of my mind I don't really like reflecting on. Although that was probably just me, I think anyone who spends their free time looking into their hearts and minds should read this book, because chances are that it will speak to you.
Thoughtfulness aside, the plot was exquisite, though a little predictable, but it IS a young adult book, so that I can forgive. The characters remind me a teeny-bit of Twilight, but instead of being a heart-breakingly predictable romance, I actually found myself being swept along.
This book echoed in me. Please read this, or something like this, if your brain is tired of eating the same stuff all of the time and wants to go out into the world.
