Be still my heart! I was lucky enough to get an advance copy of this book and I read it just like the title, on the double because as much as I wanted to savor it I just couldn’t put it down. Suspense action is what it’s billed as and wow that is definitely what it is. It’s billed as mostly River and Reese trying to find Shay but there are still so many characters from Cara Dee’s other books here as well, or as they are jokingly referred to at one point as “a merry band of has-beens��. Has-beens they are NOT even if there are more complaints about sore knees and how much they hate leaches! I just adore this idea of Ms. Dee’s of bringing all these characters from different books of her’s together and playing off the bits of background that she has already set for them. I’m just really glad that she is bringing them out so close together or my heart couldn’t stand it. So well worth reading!
