Princess of the Midnight Ball (The Princesses of Westfalin Trilogy, #1)

This was more like a 3.5. I enjoyed the way the story explained some of the elements of the story that seemed weird and random before. The characters were also more happily well-rounded than in the fairy tale (of course, that tends to be the case with all novel retellings of fairy tales). I enjoy Jessica Day George so far--her writing is lighthearted and clean, not deep and thoughtful, but fun nonetheless.
Oh, also I liked that the 12 sisters were actually spaced apart in age, ranging from something like 20 to 6 (I can't remember exactly).
Rating: G.
