Beautifully illustrated account of the "Majestic's" career, book-ended by two world wars. Chirnside's book is also full of technical details and statistics, which means for anyone researching "the golden age of travel" it's a brilliant resource. I would have loved to read a little bit more on what life was life onboard for passengers on a typical voyage as, anything Chirnside turns his eye to, will be given in well-researched detail. However, that's a very minor quibble with an excellent book on one of the Jazz Age's most popular liners.
