I couldn't imagine going right from The Goldfinch to another work of fiction; I had a feeling that whatever I might read next would never measure up & I would be bored & disappointed! Not wanting to do an injustice to this hypothetical work of fiction that I did not read, I picked up Bossypants instead, & spent a few days laughing out loud in inappropriate settings. There are quite a few parts of the book that really are very hilarious!

I think there's a line that Tina Fey is trying to straddle here, that line being on one side, a memoir, and on the other, "a book of humor"; I think she also tried not to be nasty about anyone that she's worked with over the years. She succeeds pretty well at the humorous memoir. As for the lack of nasty cracks about people in the TV business, I think some of the sections about SNL and 30 Rock might have been enlivened by just a little gossip, innuendo & snark! Plus I don't believe everyone was that nice.

Other than that, well done Tina Fey! I liked the book very much & I am not one of those creepy Internet comment people - so I hope you don't want to send me one of your "Dear Internet" replies! (Though it would be kind of fun to brag about.)
