Cam Have just finished Watership Down By Richard Adams. Gave it 5 stars, this book could have easily been my backyard growing up in Country Victoria so I related to it so easily, on top of that add the fact that everyone loves an underdog, which is exactly what Hazel and his small band of rabbits were in leaving the comfort of the only home they had ever know because of the intuition of a psychic runt bunny called Fiver. Excellent fantasy adventure tale that although is coming up to 40 years old is still relatable even today.

Kristina (klonk) Stardust - Neil Gaiman

I thought this was a lovely book. It was a fast and easy read, and with a story that kept the reader (me) hooked, from beginning to end. I thought I knew how it'd end and that I had the story figured out, but when I got closer to the end, Neil Gaiman proved that I had no clue, which is always nice!

I truly recommend this book. I'll give it 4 stars.

Kristina (klonk) Grass for His Pillow - Lian Hearn

This is the second novel in Lian Hearn's series Tales of the Otori, and if you liked Across the Nightingale Floor, which is the first book, then you should like Grass for His Pillow as well, at least I did. The story continues where the first book ended, and tells the story of the two young characters, Takeo and Kaede and gives us the story of their lives, showing life from both perspectives.

Grass for His Pillow will get 4 stars, and the book made me buy the three following books as well. I'd say that's a good grade!

I finally finished Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke. I give it 2 stars. It was really well researched and well written and I liked some parts but it was so long and dragged out I just didn't really enjoy reading it.

Jamie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl - 4 stars

This is a really good children's book, but the movies really spoil it. Having seen both of the movies, there wasn't much that was fresh for me in this book - I wish I'd read it prior to seeing them, since it's such a great, fun story.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) Have you read Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, Jamie?

Jen B (jennybee618) End of the month, but I managed to squeeze in a fantasy book, too:

Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris
Four Stars

My Review:
"I wasn't sure what to expect when I started this book, but I got a little bit of everything: telepathy, vampires, sex with vampires, murder, mayehm, lots and lots of blood...and Bubba - a dim-witted vampire that bears more than a passing resemblance to Elvis. Not my usual fare! I'm still scratching my head and not quite sure what to make of it...but I think I'll be back for more.

Julianne | 42 comments Joanie-

I am reading Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell--I'm almost halfway through and feeling the exact same as you...don't know if I should keep up.

I also stopped reading my other fantasy for the month: The Sweet Far Thing because it has also been dragging.

This is the first time I haven't finished anything on the Pick-a-shelf. I'm soo ashamed!

Luann (azbookgal) | 1017 comments The Winter Knights by Paul Stewart. 3 stars.

I love this series by Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell. The Winter Knights is the eighth in The Edge Chronicles. It was slow going in the beginning, but did pick up the pace eventually. A must-read for those who have read the previous seven.

Joanie | 61 comments Julianne, if it wasn't for the winter challenge in TNBBC I think I would have given up for sure. It just was way too dragged out for me.

Niccole | 1 comments If you like Twilight, you may like the Sookie Stackhouse books. This is the basis and there are many, that the True Blood series on HBO is based on,

Jamie Susanna - No, I haven't read Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator yet, but I should add it to my TBR list - thanks!

Meghan (bookreadera) | 22 comments I read Tapping the Dream Tree (A Newford Collection) by Charles deLint. I love the way the author melds fantasy and reality in his Newford books. And short stories are a great way to introduce people to the genre. (5 stars)

Southernbelle0326 | 20 comments My read for Feb. was Twilight by Stephanie Meyer. 5/5 stars.
