Read:
A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray (found on page 9 on the group's bookshelf)
Finished it on: October 15, 2012
Rating:descriptiondescriptiondescription
Review:
The beginning of the book was really good, but after Gemma's mother died (which happens very early in the story) it became a bit boring and I struggled to keep reading. It took awhile for me to get into this book and even then it was, at times, sluggish. The story was really good towards the end and the way it ended makes me want to read the next book soon. Overall, I enjoy reading this book.

Breann | 0 comments Armed & Dangerous (Cut & Run, #5) by Abigail Roux

Series Catch Up: Armed & Dangerous
Date: October 15th
Rating: ★★★★
Review:

“I love you" Ty said, the quiet words devoid of any self-consciousness of his usual bravado. " And I've never been able to say that before with such conviction. I can't remember a time when you weren't the first thing I thought of, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I don't care what stands in our way.

Armed & Dangerous starts where Divide & Conquer left off. Zane alone after Ty left. Luckily, this is resolved rather quickly and we get plenty of Ty & Zane time. And the making up was more than worth the torture of a cliffhanger. There were so many feelings expressed between Ty and Zane. They’re finally feeling comfortable in loving each other and are taking every opportunity to let the other know. There were I Love You’s flying all over the place and I freaking loved it!! When Zane finally gave Ty the compass, it was just beautiful.

”Because you gave me direction when I was lost. You showed me the way.

Ty seems to have an easier time sharing his feelings, so it was refreshing to see Zane getting lovey-dovey-mushy-gushy too. I was happy to see an explanation for Ty sort of, uncharacteristically, writing off Zane’s I Love You in Divide & Conquer. I should have known. Ms. Roux would never steer us wrong.

The suspense part of the story was the best so far. Ty and Zane have been assigned a job that is off the radar. They need to gather Julian Cross, the “antique dealer, and deliver him to the FBI. Upon trying to detain Julian Cross, he refuses to leave without him boyfriend, Cameron. These two added another level of hilariousness. There was plenty of snarkyness and laugh out loud one liners. Not only was there Ty & Zane but Julian and Cameron were just as swoonworthy. They were so sweet and loving with each other. Badass Julian always making sure Cameron is okay and feels safe. Cameron trying to reign in his hot headed boyfriend and just stay alive. Having these two along for the ride gave an example to Ty & Zane of what they’re missing by hiding. Of course, if they want to keep their jobs they don’t have a choice. But now they see that there is a choice to make. Which is easier to live with, losing your job or having to hide who you love.

This series has progressed so beautifully. From two slightly insane FBI agents who were fumbling through life, to two men who understand and love each other unconditionally. They’re still slightly insane but that’s half the fun. This series is exceptionally written. One of the best. If this is the level of amazingness needed to reach 5 stars, I might need to rethink some of my previous ratings.

Wow! This was an amazing book! The story started out slow, but it got good as I read on. The other characters were okay for the most part. I literally felt sorry for Nikki during a scene where she felt like no one wanted her which caused her to crawl back to her godfather Damon Vessler, an evil manipulator who plans involve Nikki. During all this, some information gets revealed about Nikki which I literally didn't see coming, but made the story more interesting. For the ending, oh my the ending...March 2013 can't come fast enough for the next book, Avenger to come out! I want to see what happens next!

I just love this series. Lily is one of a kind. I have no idea what guy I want her with. I like Max but he doesn't like her being a witch. Aidan has that bad guy thing going but I don't know about him. Sailor has mysteries going on and I like him the best. Know I have to go out and by the next book.

This was a really great read. I kinda didn't like Solange in this one. She didn't want anyone to help her with her problems. For Constantine, oh my god, I hate him! I know he is up to no good. For Nicholas, I wonder if he can be saved. For the rest, I wonder how the author will conclude this series in the final book coming out in January 2013. I want to see if any of my unanswered questions will be answered in that book.

I am really enjoying this series and am looking forward to reading the next book, though it's kind of sad that I have to wait for it. I liked how this book focused more on Miriam, the mother from the previous book, and not on one of her other daughters. Bishop Knepp drove me crazy in this book, I couldn't believe the way he behaved! There is one thing that annoyed me, (view spoiler) Overall, I would recommend this to fans of Amish fiction, and even though I think the books can be read separately, I would suggest that you read the first book before reading this one as there are key things that are uncovered that are surprising that obviously wouldn't surprise you if you read this one first.

Shelf: Vampire
Read: 10/18/12
Rating: 4 stars
Review: This was another fun book in the Love at Stake series. I’m happy that Phineas finally got his story and his HEA. We get to learn a little more about the wolf pack and Phil and Brynley’s pasts in this one; as well as more about Phineas background and character. I also enjoyed that fact that several new characters joined the bunch. I especially liked the little twist at the end (gotta read the book to find out)…It will be interesting to see how things evolve. I’ve really enjoyed this series and hope there will be many more to come.

Rating: 2.5 stars

Review:
This is the third book in the Strange Neighbors series. Honestly, I should have stopped at book 2. The first two books were cute and easy to embrace the characters. I really wanted to like Morgaine and Sly's story, but it just seemed to stumble along. Perhaps that is why it took me most of the week to read it. It pretty much ended with a end to the series. I'm not sure where it would go from here.

Review:

I enjoy this series so much. It reminds me of Buffy et al. I had heard that this was not one of the better books in the series but I disagree. Kate has finally told Stuart about her demon hunting and it has become a family affair. She is still torn about Eric. This is a wonderful example of good versus evil. It brings out big gun demons, exemplifies family bonding and throws in humor along the way. Love it!
