In other news I intend to put my first novel, Heavens Door on free promo on Kindle from the 10th-12th of Oct.
Enjoy a teaser of Red Winter: All he wanted to do was flea the room but he was trapped, trapped by the ice cold that had frozen his muscles into complete paralysis. It was at this moment that a slight mist could be seen just before the fire, not thick enough to obscure the flames but enough to be noticed, a haze. It swayed on the air lazily from side to side, King’s mouth dropped open, the grasp on the mug had faltered and the distant sound of the liquid splashing onto the floor barely registering with him. The nebulous mist slowly beginning to take shape, that of a humanoid, shoulders and a head were first visible, slowly an arm stretched outwards. Outwards towards the terror stricken King, everything he held dropped to the floor, crashing and splintering into a million hazardous shards around his bare feet. His eyes strained out of their sockets in fear, their pupils so dilated that the iris was just a sliver of faint blue around them.
The ethereal hand remained outstretched, as if pleading to King, the emanation seemed to lack power as its head, shoulders and solitary arm were all that appeared before his eyes. It remained still, not attempting to move as though the room’s temperature had frozen it in suspense. Without warning it began to fade, losing its power even further, inch by inch it petered out into the freezing room, the pleading arm remained the longest. Despite the coldness within the room perspiration ran freely down King’s forehead and his eyes dried with the lack of blinking.
The apparition had dissolved and the warmth began to force its way back to him, fear enshrouded him all the while, so much so that he didn’t feel the intense burning sensation from the discarded tea. He slowly stepped back from the room, all the while not turning back, allowing himself to see the expanse of the four walls. All seemed normal now, the heat was back and sounds seem to come from this dimension and not some distant existence.
‘I remember whispered the disembodied voice.

The Still Beating Heart - Damien Valentine is a good cop with a bad attitude.
He has become bored of his job, that is until a case comes along. One where the killer steals the victims heart and leaves a black rose in its place.
What does it mean? Will Valentine solve the case before he falls into the arms of the killer?
Will he join the collection of still beating hearts?
Red Winter - Red Winter
James King is blessed with a curse; he can see through the eyes of the killer which has Manchester locked in fear.
With his psychic ability will he be able to help put an end to the reign of terror or will the ghosts of the victims drive him to insanity.
All King knows is that this is a Red Winter.
Read with conviction; remember with terror.

A very short, short story recently released. With hopes to bring the supernatural to the neo-noir setting.
What happens when you have a guest who won't even acknowledge your presence?
He sits rationalizes what he has done to deserve this treatment.
In his soul searching he figures out what is needed of him.
Will you unravel the mystery of The Guest?
Several years later (with much more reading experience under my belt, may I add) I started to formulate ideas, some came and went and others lingered. It was at that time I took pen to paper, or in this day in age my fingers to keyboard and furiously tapped out my original draft of my favourite story in my mind; Red Winter.
From this point on I found ideas came to me with ease and I would begin with the skeleton of the story, padding it out over time. This is where Heavens Door is now. I am very proud to say that it is available on the Kindle store. Heavens Door, just reminding you all!
My stories are quite dark and brooding, that's just the way my imagination works, but it feels good to release the contents out on to a blank canvass.
I can't say that the muse for my story was the happiest, I was in fact reminiscing about my Grandmother who had died from cancer some years prior. The extra story was inspiration from James Herbert without doubt, in fact you may see some of that within the book.
I do intend to write more and more in the weeks, months and years to come. Each and every time I will let you lovely folk know about it, thank you for listening and I will answer any questions that you may have.
On Amazon's Kindle store presently: Heavens Door.
