7. Game of thrones - forced into reading due to the fact that wherever I turned, I encountered this series in one form or the other, and a couple of my fantasy fanatic friends were repeatedly recommending
10 books you never planned to read, but somehow ended up reading, and why?
1. One hundred years of solitude -had to read as part of a group read as I was made the substitute discussion leader.
2.Storm Front - Length of the series used to scared me a lot and I'd decided to never start this one but curiosity won over all my fears.
3. Saraswati Park by Anjali Joseph (Saraswati Park)by Anjali Joseph- It was given to me by a colleague. I usually don't go for books like that but i'm glad that i read this one.
4. The Mine by Arnab Ray- it wasnt in my tbr list, I never did come across it. Read it simply because my friend gave me the book.
5. The Hobbit - It's not that I never planned to read it, it's jus that I wasn't planning to read it any time soon (though I should've just done it in my bachpan!). I am yet to read AND watch LOTR, but I realized this was my last chance to watch a Middle Earth movie on the big screen and I managed to succeed! :D
6. The Host - Read it as a dare. (Although, when I look back now, the dare seems more like a ploy to make me read it :| ) Anyway, was not as bad as one might expect it to have been
7. Game of thrones - forced into reading due to the fact that wherever I turned, I encountered this series in one form or the other, and a couple of my fantasy fanatic friends were repeatedly recommending
8. The Hunger Games Trilogy Boxset - I had made up my mind that I was not going to bother myself with this bestselling phenomenon. But then before the release of Mockingjay 'Part-I', I thought I'll give it a shot :/ (I never watched the movie though :P)

9. The Fault in Our Stars- John Green - Mainly because the movie was releasing soon around the time that I had bought and read the book. Wanted to understand the hype that the movie had generated around the book. (Didn't really capture my interest though. However, he has a really wonderful writing style.)

10. Fountainhead - I was bugged with the Ayn Rand hype and resolved not to read it. Then I ran out of books when I got a fever during my winter holidays (pre-kindle, flipkart era). Loved it! :D
