when you run out of new material. Generally I download books from my library's digital catalog and sometimes I run out of new things to listen to as I am waiting for some to become available. As a result I will relisten to a book that I love over and over again, or maybe I will do the entire series in order. I am curious as to what are your "go-to" books.

Mine are:
the Jack Reacher Series by Lee Child
Harry Bosch or Mickey Haller Series by Michael Connelly

Other ones I will relisten to even though I think the content hasn't been stellar the last couple books, but I have already investeed so much time in the series are:

Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich
Stone Barrington and Holly Barker series by Stuart Woods

I often like to re-read things to catch the finer details that might have slipped from my attention the first time. But some audiobooks I could listen to over and over again and which will be the choice when I need a go-to audiobook in between getting something new.

Tamora Pierce (her Alanna books really got me into reading, so her books have a special place in my heart)

Harry Potter books by J. K. Rowling

Jane Austen (always a happy-sigh at the end)

Kristin Cashore (I love how much feeling she manages to convey in her books)

There are a number of books I plan to reread as soon as my TBR pile dwindles a little--like "The Rook" by Daniel O'Malley--but the above mentioned are my "go to's" whenever I'm in the mood.

I enjoy re-listening to favorite series:
His Majesty's Dragon Naomi Novik
the In Death series by J.D. Robb, love the character interactions b/w Eve and Peabody and Roarke.
Percy Jackson & the Olympians, R. Riordan. so much fun
Heroes of Olympus by same author, getting ready to relisten to first two before reading the newest one.
Harry Potter read by Jim Dale...love love it

Shhh! I'm trying to pretend I'm not an audiobook-aholic with more books in my TBR pile than most people have in their libraries! Perhaps I should clarify, I meant that fractional portion of my TBR list consisting of about 30 books that I want to read instantly. *sigh*

Only thirty in the "To Be Read Instantly" pile. Then there's the "As Soon As Possible" pile, and the "I've Just Got to Read This" pile, and the "Classics I've Always Really Wanted to Read" pile, the "It Just Came Out and I Have to Read It While It's Hot" pile...
Too many books, not enough time!
(Don't tell anyone, but I have an "In Progress" pile that I've actually managed to dwindle from 45 to 34. But shhhh, that's just between you and me!)

Haha, well, that makes me feel better, since mine is at least under 20... I figure anything over ten is ridiculous, but I just never can seem to manage less than 15!

I normally hate relistening to books but I do enjoy Christopher Moore'S Dirty Job if I find myself in a pinch. It never fails to crack me up!

Good question. I re-listen to
Vorkosigan series by Lois McMaster Bujold, anything by Agatha Christie, The Hornblower series, Joe Abercrombie books, Sherlock Holmes stories and Terry Pratchett discworld books, especially if the reader is Stephen Briggs or Nigel Planer.

I noticed you mentioned the Hornblower series. Have you ever read the Aubrey/Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian read by Patrick Tull beginning with "Master and Commander"? I just can't get enough of Jack and Steven. :-D

I very rarely re-read books (any format), but after listening to Barbara Rosenblatt's narration of Bridget Jones's Diary, I've saved it to hear again when I need a book that guaranteed to make me laugh, after ones that were either a downer or dull.
