it's an older book but this book has a great heroine and unique world building.

i think the other book takes place hundreds of years before or after this book and has totally different characters. the author just puts them in the same world. this book read as a stand a lone.

I want to read these books, but I know they will take alot of time and I want to read soooo many other books. Maybe I'll get to them some day tho.
For those who haven't read The Hero and the Crown, it's an absolute must read! (I've read it 1-3 or even more times a year for the last 15 years.)Talon and the Dragons of Crinnelia is my suggestion. For Kindle readers, it's available in the lending library.
These 3 books from Naomi Novik is also about dragons, but i am not sure it is YA. Empire of Ivory, Drakon Ego Velichestva, Tongues of Serpents, Temeriare 1
