Jen | 7 comments These two authors are not the same person; any quick way to fix the records? I've gone in a few but it's going to be a long project. I noticed a couple of records in Amazon are incorrect as well.

The III wrote the House of Sand and Fog. The grandfather wrote many short stories.

Unfortunately, while combining two into one is quick, separating two out is slow. AFAIK, it has to be done one book at a time.

Paul Bryant | 96 comments I think I was responsible for this foolish error, so i have fixed it. Please have another look, should be the right books under the right Andre Dubus now. I undestand Mr Dubus was more imaginative in his literary endeavours than in his baby naming.

Jen | 7 comments Well, his stories are generally true to life, so maybe not :)

Catherine Mustread (cuiblemorgan) | 13 comments I'm a bit confused (but admittedly haven't done any research) how one can be the grandfather and only born 26 years before #3, but I agree they are two separate people. Is there also a #2 Andre Dubus author? However, shouldn't they be distinguished in the usual manner of adding spaces between first and last name instead of adding III after the name. As it is now the more current author's last name comes up as III....
Andre Dubus
Andre Dubus III

Lobstergirl Andre Dubus III is the son of Andre Dubus, not grandson. Their names are officially what they are, so we can't lop off the III (which would only make is more confusing anyway). The father is probably "the second" and his father is probably "the first" but we only care about their official names...
