Week 1: Tie

Every Last One by Anna Quindlen
Read: Dec 3, 2012
Rating: ★★
Short Review: This is a kind of Oprah Book Club "life affirming" book: perfect life, really awful tragedy, but with a silver lining. The protagonist is phony, the tragedy is heaped upon, and everyone who doesn't like the heroine is either a fair-weather friend or a crazy person. This book was worse than the normal life affirming books, nothing happened for the first 200 pages. I mean, we read about lunches and laundry and dishwashing. I have those staring at me in my own house, thank you.
Items Found
1. Clothing: Tie: "He wears either a blue or a yellow shirt, with either a striped tie or one with a small repeating pattern..."
- p5
2. Body Part: Eyes: "...decided to spend the rest of his life peering into other people's eyes..."
- p24
3. Weather: Mist/Fog: "...Through the fine mist thrown up by the water hitting my hood..."
- p29
4. Miscellaneous: Cake: "Two coffee cakes have risen up overnight atop the refrigerator."
- p140

Sorry Chaitra, you can only claim one item per catergory per week. Your 4 items have to be 1 clothing (which has to be tie this week), 1 weather, 1 body part and 1 misc.
You can repost or edit your original post. Just make sure your items are right before the team can claim the bonus points.

I read

By Jill Shalvis PDF version.290 pages
Rating: A Good 4

I found:
CLOTHING: TIE Annie tightened the tie of her jacket around her waist.Page 210
BODY PARTS: TAIL the cat stuck his tail straight up in the air... Page 263
WEATHER: SNOW He needed sunglasses to look at that pink sweater against all that virgin white snow, Page 20.
MISC: MUSICAL INSTRUMENT The fire was set to roaring, Annie put out food, and a local band set up, with Nick strapping on a guitar.
I loved this sweet tale of two tortured souls finding themselves, and each other. I've found a new favorite author. very similar to Susan Mallery's work. I'm hooked

But it's an easy read.I remember I finished the series back to back in a week:!

But does it matter at the end if a team finishes first? OR is it just the points that determines the winner?

But does it matter at the end if a team finishes first? OR is it just the points that determines the winner?"
It matters who gets to 32 points first. So finishing first this week has no impact on it. Somewhere between week 8 and 12 it will get down to a race to finish. But not necisarily for all the teams.

Book: The Next Accident by Lisa Gardner
Finished: Dec. 3, 2012
Rating & book Review: 4-stars—It was really good! FBI Agent Pierce Quincy reunites with his ex Lorainne “Rainie Connor to take another look at his daughter Mandy’s suicide. Quincy can’t shake the feeling that there was more to Mandy’s accidental death than meets the eye. Plus, part of him needed a reason to contact Rainie again because of their unfinished business. Rainie, who is now a P.I, agrees to take the case and quickly learns that they are dealing with a murder, and not a drunk driving incident. This murderer has a personal agenda, and the Quincy family is on the killer’s hit list.
Boy, this suspense/thriller was gripping. It was like watching an episode of Criminal minds because Quincy & Rainie were dealing with a really brilliant criminal, who took his time planning his murder spree. Who is this person targeting Pierce Quincy and his family and why? And how is he always 2 steps ahead of them?
If you enjoy suspense thriller, then get your popcorn ready because this one was good!!!

Body Parts (Toe): “Rainie complied, jabbing at her Glock AO with her toe, but not putting much effort into it. (Pg. 366 in The Next Accident)
Musical Instrument (Horn): “jazz is my favorite, he told her amiably as he escorted her ot the doors and the first notes of bluesy horns washed over them. (Pg. 61 in The Next Accident)

Ezi ,would you check my posts to make sure everything is correct?
Request
Week 1

Can we then change the items we have previously claimed to get the perfect score?

I know that we have to read a book that have the item for each week. I think I can explain my question with an example
I claimed rainbow this week , and I got the point for it. if it's called next week I have to read a book with rainbow in it ,and I can claim another 3 words ,so instead of claiming 8 items in this 2 weeks I have claimed 7 items. So how can I get a perfect score if that happens?

Thank you and thank you for the explanation, got it:)
Got it, our post numbers!

Hardly anyone, (except Katya) lol has finished with a perfect score. Im sure she did it!

Someone else on my team last time finished perfectly along with Katya. I just can't remember right now. I have always been 2 away, but it happens to all teams.

Chaitra, are you reading the "v" book in our other challenge--GR w/friends? (Invest)

I could be Ezi! One member hasn't checked in yet, depending on what she reads, I'll be reading either V or T. In any case, I think I won't start that book today. :)

That was what I was thinking too, right???? Reading

I have it and book 2 on audio for the past 6 months. Maybe I will see if I can fit it into a challenge for next month.
Question: is Bones okay, as opposed to "Bone"---will Dawn accept that?
