Dawn (dawn_e) Yeah it was almost like it could have been a short story minus the 500+ pages. The only thing I can think is that it plays a larger part in the series it self but seriously 500+ pages?! Oh well can't wait to get the next one love Elena and clay!

One of my friends at work told me that some stuff that happens in Living with the Dead is important to the rest of the series. That's why I ended up making myself finish it the 2nd time I tried it. :)

Book: I Kissed a Dog (Werewolves of the West, #1) by Carol Van Atta
Date read: Dec 13th
Rating: 4 stars
Review: There is so much promise for this series, but I won't lie there were parts that irked me. A little slow starting but once you get into it, it is very gripping with a nice little twist and a 'Wow I never saw that coming!' moment.

The ending in particular is something that irked me, I'm not a fan of the whole cliffhanger thing, unless done well. This one made me think, 'Well this could have made a good start to book 2'

Will I read book two? Yes! I'm very much looking forward to seeing how this turn of events unfolds.

Items Claimed:

Body Parts: Bones: In my vision, I heard a series of vicious dog-like snarls and an ear-shattering roar, followed by what sounded like bones snapping. KL: 1662

Misc: Shelf: It’s on the shelf over there. KL: 11508

Weather:Sunshine: Why don’t you take advantage of the sunshine and soak in some of those rays you love so much. KL: 12391

Clothing: belt: I couldn’t tear my eyes from the area just below his belt. KL: 2112

Review:
This was a fun, quick read. I'm really enjoying this series because it's funny without trying too hard to be that way (in my opinion anyway). My favorite character is still Jim the demon Newfoundland. He always makes me smile! I'll definitely be reading Book 3!

Book: Beneath A Blood Red Moon (Vampire, #1) by Shannon Drake
Finished: Dec 21st
Rating 4 Stars
Review: It is very easy to tell that this book was written in the 90s. Not that this is a bad thing, it's the type of vampire novel that gotten me into the PNR. Something that I really liked was how both Countess Elizabeth Báthory and Jack the Ripper were both mentioned(both who I am very fascinated with), Jack more so but for reason I won't get into because I'm not in a use spoiler kind of mood.

I will admit that this book did take me sometime to get into and I think it's because I have gotten to used to today's PNR books, that it just took me a moment to realized that this was one of the older ones. Once it had my attention I really enjoyed it, I liked how it went back and forth in modern times and the past. Over all this was really good paranormal romantic suspense novel. I'm looking forward to reading more by Shannon Drake/Heather Graham

Items
Sunshine: But she nodded vehemently now, so happy that her very warmth seemed to flow into him like sunshine (p I can't find the page in my book, but it's in there, line is from amazon.ca)

Nose: Now, this is N'Awleans, and I do keep careful, but I keep my nose clean, walk down the right streets, and if all the drug pushers and pimps in this city have the desire to decapitate one and another, then so much the better! (pate 48)

Bra:She was wearing a blouse with ties in the front, a short skirt, garter, bra, stockings, and four inch heals. (page 117)

Sky: She sat up, staring out at the morning sun through a slit in the drapes, watching as it slowly began climbing higher in the sky (page 267)
