Hi,
I like the series mostly because everyone has their own spirit. I am actually on book 6 already. The story line for this book, other than the shifter part, is realistic. Sometimes a person meets someone when they are young and then life just happens and you have no choice but to roll with the punches. If I was Jess I would have forgiven Bobby Ray and played pranks on Sissy from now until the end of time. My favorite character in the whole series has got to be Blayne. She is so corky and fun, but she takes care of business when the time comes to it.

I really liked the Beast in Him and was surprised. When I first started I was kind of on the fence but by halfway I did not want to put it down. The characters were very realistic and engaging. I especially enjoyed the sparring between Jess and Bobby Ray. It felt appropriate to the situation and "right". I think some of the jokes I missed out on as this was my first book by this author though the second in a series. But that just means I'll have to reread it once I've read the first!
My only issue with the book came from the ending. It felt like the side line plot of the greedy absentee father was kind of dropped at places but by the end its built up to a nice little drama. The way that an 'outside' character just kind of stepped in and solved it was a bit anti-climactic.
I am definitely going to be reading the rest of the series. I hope the rest feature the same level of realism I found here.
Thanks so much for doing the December group read, Jillian.
Thanks for participating to all who joined.
December is such a busy month, so I know that's part of the low turnout.

This book is a perfect mixture of funny and sexyiness plus just a really awesome shifter world.
I would recommend it to anyone who likes a bit of humour with their reading.

The banter between the characters
4. Overall rating out of 1-10 or out of 1-5 stars?
I rated this a 3 out of 5
5. Do you understand why Bobby Ray left Jess? Would you forgive him?
Yes, I understand. He was just a kid and was leaving for the navy. There's really nothing to forgive.
6. What did you think of the way that Jess got back at Bobby Ray?
Really not needed. Kinda immature.
7. Which of the characters would you like to read about next?
The lions
