The ending definitely had me upset. I feel weird saying this, but in a way I thought they were going to die, so I wasn't surprised.
Is that bad? I feel bad for thinking they were all going to die in the end, but I did.
Have you heard the Deedee theory/truth(i think) yet?

I agree. I was a sad ending-very sad, but the book kind of gave me the vibe that they were going to die.

Karina Zourik Is the Deedee theory that she was Brenda? Cause thats what i thought during the whole book. I was positive that they were the same person

Amanda Karina wrote: "Is the Deedee theory that she was Brenda? Cause thats what i thought during the whole book. I was positive that they were the same person"

No. The Deedee theory was that she was Teresa.

Vee Gretzinger i thougth it was sad! i'm sorry but i love all the maze runners! although this book didn't explain very much, i still enjoyed it! a lot.

Isabella It was a sad ending, but I didn't get as attached to the characters in this book as I have in other books. I did find the ending unexpected, though, since there aren't many books where the main character or characters die. It was good, though.

Vee Gretzinger Yes DC was sooo sad at the end:'(^^^

Rosa Hoffman I thought this was the best in the whole series...lots of action, i was rooting for them all the way, although i had a feeling they weren't going to make it. I did however make me madder towards Thomas, I now feel he is more pathetic than he was in his own books..Theresa was so much stronger that him (especially now that we know her background), it makes her ending that much more heartwrenching and feels like such a waste that she didn't make it...

The thing that pissed me off, was how WICKED ended up getting it all wrong. (view spoiler)

Mark wanted a CURE. He didn't want a maze and a bunch of little kids taken from their parents to be experiments. He wanted a cure.

And WICKED got it wrong.

message 11: by Kim (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kim It was devastating i cried and the epilogue ugh

Cherie My theory was that the wicked members were affected by the flare the whole time.. And that's why the whole time I was like "how the hell does this help fin a cure??" Because they were losing their sanity and human instincts about what is right and wrong.. Killing children and telling themselves that it was for good intentions. Maybe they had some sort of medicine to slow down the change, but I think they were affected nonetheless.

message 13: by [deleted user] (new)

That's a really good point, and it makes a lot of sense. What WICKED were doing was just not human, it's possible the disease was affecting their humanity. Hate them all the same, anyway :p

Laura The ending was incredibly sad, but also unsurprising, I mean....we all knew they were going to catch the flare and eventually die right? At least they died trying to do something good, and they died before they COMPLETELY lost it. So, does anyone know FOR SURE whether DeeDee was Brenda or Theresa? I've been on a lot of these discussions and everyone seems to have conflicting opinions.

Erick Montoya The ending was the saddest thing I have ever read SECOND to the ending of the Death cure. I kind of cried at the ending of this book with the two having a romantic death. But the death cure ending just infuriated me into breaking a wall.

Nason Isabella wrote: "It was a sad ending, but I didn't get as attached to the characters in this book as I have in other books. I did find the ending unexpected, though, since there aren't many books where the main cha..."
Spoiler

This was awesome! Action, adventure, cool insight on the flares. Great book overall, and i actually liked the ending. Compared to Death Cure pretty much any ending is good. She finally remembered mark in the end! They may have died, but at least they had each other. The open ending leaves much to imagination which is cool.

Quincy Carrizales I thought the ending was sad but I don't think that is was as sad as the ending of Death Cure. SPOILER ALERT!!! I think it was so sad when the girl in the Glade died I can't remember her name right now though.

Nason Death cures ending was the worst. Teresa is flattened, and i dont even think Tom cared all that much. Then it ends with them in the middle of nowhere with no cure. At least in kill order the girl gets her memory back and they die together. Tom never said goodbye to Teresa.

I really don't get you people. Sure, Teresa's dead, sure Newts dead, sure Chuck and Winston and Zart are dead too, but the point is that all the immunes ended up in a safe place together, away from the dying world and the disease and away from the Cranks. Can't you just be happy for the survivors?

Cassie To be completely honest, I would have been mad if it ended any other way. I didn't like this book. At all. The ending was probably the best part, as awful as that sounds.

Crystal I kept thinking reading this that Trina and Mark were going to be the parents of a main character from the MR. I don't know why I thought that, so I was not prepared for them to get sick, and then for them to die like they did. I cried my little eyes out, and its been awhile since a book made me cry. I really liked this book.

I think the ending is really sad but that it fits well with the story and with the rest of the series. At least (I don't want to reveal any spoilers), they die 'achieving' something.

message 23: by Chloe (new) - added it

Chloe When Teresa died, I was like, nooooooooooooo! She was basically the only reason I was reading the books! She was going to say something important: "I only ever cared for........." And Thomas just left! After she saved his stupid butt!

Isabelle Schreck OMG!!!! this book was SOOOOOOOOOOOO depressing, but some how i loved it! I was like, "How could you, James Dashner?! How could you?!"

message 25: by Chloe (new) - added it

Chloe I agree Isabel!

Deedee is Teresa. In the book there should be a secret chapter where it talks about Teresa meeting Thomas, and after Thomas tells his story and stuff *cries*. Teresa starts off with that her name was Deedee before she got here. [The feel train man] OMFG! I JUST AHJAHJAHJHAJAHJAHJAHHH god so pissed this series ended gods why?! Mark, Aleeeeeeccccc, Trina omg.

message 28: by Sunray (new)

Sunray I personally think that 'the Kill Order' is the most depressing book the whole series. The end was soooo sad! For me, it was even sadder than Newt's death! ;(

message 29: by Landoncarter (new)

Landoncarter Okay, am i the only one wondering what Trina was going to say to mark?!?! like srlsy all he put was "mark" like was she gonna say "mark, i love u" or what?!?! its driving me freakin mad

I think that it just means that she remembered him again.

Satsuma I sort of knew the ending was going to be like it was, but now I feel really sad...

Satsuma Amanda wrote: "Karina wrote: "Is the Deedee theory that she was Brenda? Cause thats what i thought during the whole book. I was positive that they were the same person"

Yeah, she was Teresa. No offence but Deedee was a bit lame.

Yeah.

Hannah Karina wrote: "Is the Deedee theory that she was Brenda? Cause thats what i thought during the whole book. I was positive that they were the same person" Deedee is tresea

Alison The ending was kind of sad, but I didn't really get attached to the characters in the book, so I wasn't very upset.

message 36: by Esteban (new) - added it

Esteban Sandoval Holy damn, I couldn’t stop crying at the end of the book. It really broke my heart to having them die.
This was the best book so far that I read in the maze runner series.
Hopefully more books keep coming❤️

Nadia Cant more agree. Its sad, the story are just flowing and eventhough I had a grasp what will be the ending, I am still crying.

This is the best book of the series, imho
