Alice Everyone I know who has read the book adores him... am I the only one who doesn't get it?

Ben I really don't like him. I think the Annie story is touching and sad, but personally I really don't get the obsession

Erin O'Riordan When we meet Finnick in Catching Fire, he seems so arrogant. I didn't like him at first. But then in Mockingjay when I found out what the Capital did to him, my sympathies went out to him instantly. Suddenly, his arrogance took on a completely new meaning. He wasn't just some big jerk - he was a survivor.

If someday you should happen to get interested in American classics and you look for another trilogy about a war, perhaps you'll read the War Trilogy by James Jones. In From Here to Eternity you'll meet a character named Bloom, and his cockiness will remind you of Catching Fire Finnick. He'll get into a fight with the hero, Prewitt (the troublemaking son of a coal miner - Prew's a little bit like Katniss) and you'll hate Bloom. Then you'll get inside his head and see him in a whole new light - just like Finnick.

Yes. I agree. I loved Finnick and I teared up when he died!

Sophie Finnick was one of the only good characters in the hunger games series. He was one of the characters with a fairly well developed personality, I actually only liked about 4 of the characters in the whole entire series and Finnick is definitely one of them. It is a shame that (view spoiler) there weren't many likable characters but he was one of my favourites.

Alice Sorry - I do like him I just didn't understand the obsession with him - thanks guys :)

Haidi Nope your not the only one, I didn't like or dislike him, he was just a character to me. I certainly didn't love him like many seem to do.

Don't apologise! We all have different opinions and that is a good thing, life would be very dull if we all liked the same things :)
Personally I can't stand Gale... or Katniss, and I struggle to comprehend how anyone could like them, but they seem to be incredibly popular all the same!

And it beggars belief that some people adore Cato and Clove, we are all different.

None of the personalities in the Hunger Games series enchanted me, I liked a few of them, I didn't like an awful lot of them, but I didn't fall in love with any of their characters, and I didn't wish to meet with them again on the pages of another book.

I understand you. I like him but that's all! He is far to be one of my favorite characters.

Eli I don't think you're the only one, but I personally loved Finnick!

Glad someone else feels the same as me about this comment. :)

Marirose Vernalee I like Finnick. Him dying broke my heart for Annie. Despite his less-admirable qualities (that are the Capital's effects), he really was a good guy.

Dear Charlie I love Finnick, he was perfect, yes, just a word, PERFECT in every single way !! he was kind and, he was really really in love with a girl who was freaking crazy.AAAAAAND was the pretties man in Panem (:

7703maya Yes. Finnick is AWESOME!

Fia-Sophia i thought finnick had a pretty good sense of humor. and his relationship was annie was touching.

Gretchen I liked him as well as I like any of the characters. I understand what you mean though I don't have a character crush on him as many seem to have. I think his attraction for many is his bad boy persona, lots of girls go for that and think they are the Annie to change and calm a bad boy's spirit.

I agree with Alice. I found him puppy-like and irritating. He was kind of pathetic. Peeta deserves all the attention he's getting, Finnick's is solely based on his looks. Why do we love Peeta??? He's just a GOOD. PERSON. He's not a fake with a box of sugarcubes and a crooked smile.
Coffee and teacakes!!!!!

F.J. Don't hate Finnik but he's a really annoying character =__=

Getana Torani - connectedChaser Finnick is one of the characters whose deaths made me throw the book on the floor, and shout, 'WHY!'. It's because Finnick was a character in the series who actually got development. At first, you'd think he's an arrogant and annoying character, and you dislike him. Then, the next book shows why. Why he acts all arrogant and annoying. And, just like Prim, he gets a sucky, unmemorable death.

Sonia I think the attraction for Finnick is the tortured hero type of character + the sex appeal aspect which you just don't get from either Peeta or Gale. Finnick is portrayed as an Adonis and one who was also a sex slave turned rebel spy yet also totally devoted to damaged goods (at least mentally) such as Annie. What's not to like?

I agree. I thought Finnick was an amazing and touching character, with a good humor, I never thought of him as abnoxious

I liked him, but not all OMIGOSH FINNICK!

message 29: by Aly (new) - added it

Aly yes

Deanna Roberts I really liked Finnick, I think he was my favourite character. I liked the way he held himself, though he was arrogant, it felt like that was the way that he made his stand against the capital and I really think his death was unnecessary.
