I don't know what to make of this book so far, at first I thought it was really slow but it seems to be getting more interesting. However, I am almost half way through and I seem to keep getting questions but no answers!
I'm on chapter 8 and I most agree there are way more questions then answers. I think the main reason it was slow was because she didn't tell anyone that would actually know what to do. Also why in the world would her mother lie about her daughters birth. I mean there most be some twisted stuff going on with the time travel like some ancient prophecy she most fulfill since she's the 'Ruby' and I really hate her aunt she's so stuck up as if she wants this life for her daughter. I know Chartlotte had been preparing all get life but she needs to get over herself.
I completely agree about her Aunt, she is driving me nuts. However, the whole lie about her birthday thing my spidey-senses are in over drive with all these men and women at the temple. Something is very, very off about them and what they do, I just don't know what yet!
Yeah like I can understand her wanting to protect her daughter. And I don't hold it against her or not telling her daughter it's just that no one believed her until there was proof because they were so focused on Charrlotte

I keep finding secretive mother everywhere. First Unearthly and now this one. I mean what's up with the count that would have her mother so unhappy? They most have a history and for her mother to steal the time machine it seems weird and I feel she knows more than she's letting on. Also I'm only on chapter eleven I didn't have much time to read last night and I really needed sleep but now I'm not so tired so I'll be reading more. They've just jumped back in time to visit the count so I'm going to read more now :)
Don't worry Morgan, I'm right where you are too. Between work and the holidays coming up not much reading is getting done on my end either. The mother secrets is kinda funny being in two books in a row. I hope this one doesn't end without telling me SOMETHING they know!!!! I also don't know how we are going to get her and Gideon together considering its more than half way and he still an ASS! It is getting more interesting though, thankfully.
I expected it going into the past, but he is so much worse than any of them!!!! Even the creepy Romania guy isn't like The Count!!

I've already read sapphire blue and it was amazing. I'm pretty sure you will love this.
Ugh I feel like this is going by too slowly. I mean I've only read a chapter today and halfway through I was bored. I wish the chapters were shorter and there were better cliffhangers so that I'd want to keep reading. Hopefully I'll finish by tomorrow before the holidays. And yeah it's expected from men in that century at least it's not like that now because if I didn't have the rights I have now I'd despise everyone. Also I feel bad for Gideon and Charlotte. I mean here Gideon is talking about how bad it is to be 'normal' but I'd rather be Gwen. Raised normally and then braught into this world altogether. Sure she doesn't know much but it's better than having no childhood life. And it totally agree with you WERES THE ROMANCE? I mean there's two more chapters but that's not enough time for much.
Um....I just finished the book...and I feel like I was left with nothing. lol I mean literally, didn't answer any questions I had, we got A SINGLE KISS between the two of them and I'm not even sure they like each other, and I got about 6 new characters thrown at me towards the end but didn't find out what any of them are truly about. Clearly I'm going to have to read Sapphire Blue just to find what the heck is going on in this world!
Between all of the excitement and cooking today I found time to finish this book. And I just don't know. It's good but not a book that I really love. I definitely still need to read the second one. And I really wonder how suddenly Gideon thinks she's 'perfect' and there's only one kiss ): I agree as well so many new characters and the plot keeps getting better and yet-for me- a bit more confusing
The comment Paul made at the end of the book about Gwen having his hair COMPLETELY through me off!! What does he mean by that? I'm not entirely sure now if Gwen is really the daughter of Grace, and it has tilted everything off balance if that's true!!!
I just got Sapphire Blue from the library so I have a feeling I am still not going to like the count but I am convinced that Gwen is not her mom's because they keep mentioning how she doesnt look like any of her immediate family and the fact that she time travels so much more than the others seems suspicious. If she was the child of two travelers though it would make more sense.
