This got me thinking why cant we list our top reads in 2012..

List the top 10 books that you've read in 2012..

message 3: by dely (new)

dely | 5483 comments The best books I have read in 2012 are:

1) Life and Fate by Vasilij Grossmann
2) Solo by Rana Dasgupta
3) Beside the Sea by Véronique Olmi
4) Quiet Flows the Don by Mikhail Sholokhov
5) The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
6) a collection of short stories by Anton Chekhov

The first three books impressed me because I didn't know anything about the authors so they were a good surprise (but also good books).
I haven't 10 books! All the others I have read were average reads but nothing that stunned me. If I will remind other good books I will add them!

sorry, Anbu, 5 more than what you bargained for. But in retrospective, when I went through my list of books read in 2012, I feel some of the 4 star ones were actually much better than the five star ones I have put down here. Maybe our individual mood variations have much to do while rating books.
