Danielle (daniellecobbaertbe) | 68 comments For me it's more a top 5:

The Absolutist by John Boyne Pavel & I by Dan Vyleta A Different Kind Of Courage Gretel's Story by Gretel Wachtel

Three books actually where war also plays a role.

The series by Simon Beckett on David Hunter was something I discovered this year and loved a great deal. Especially the third book in the series turned out to be a real cliffhanger. Whispers of the Dead (David Hunter #3) by Simon Beckett

Currently I'm listening to Gypsy Boy by Mikey Walsh and I really like it a lot.

Jovanie | 18 comments Reading a variety of Bushnell Candace novels... really all great, one unique novel led me to discover and browse more novels from Candace Bushnell. Thanks to this, Candace Bushnell has became one of my Most Admired Authors.

Susan | 394 comments Tigers On The Tenth Day And Other Stories by Zakaria Tamer Tigers On The Tenth Day And Other Stories by Zakaria Tamer

This was probably the best book I read last year. If you have an interest in Syrian short stories and can find it in your library, I would recommend this.
