Lara (laradyane) Did you already read those two books for Antarctica? If so, how were they? I have both of them sitting on my bookshelf at home right now, but haven't read them yet. I'm kind of an Antarctica junkie though, so I'm sure I'll be getting to them soon!

Janice (jamasc) Nice list, Kimberly!

I met Jerri Nielsen several years ago, right around the time she published her book (and sadly before she died) and she was a fascinating. Her story was amazing. I also love books about Antarctica and the Arctic circle.

Lara (laradyane) Oh, that's really cool that you got to meet her--I'm definitely looking forward to reading her book before too much longer! Do you have any other Antarctic/Artic faves?

And Kimberly, I see that you have Wildwood Dancing on your to-read list--I love that one. If you enjoy it, the follow-up book, Cybele's Secret, takes place in Turkey!

No I haven't :)

Thank you Janice! I'm hoping to knock some of those off my list this year but I'm going to find some new books to read this year as well that aren't on my list yet.

Vizara | 95 comments Great list you have here, but I think that The Man-Eaters of Tsavoshould probably be listed under Kenya.

message 11: by Janice (new)

Janice (jamasc) That's my approach too, Kimberly. I'm going to knock off the books I have left over from 2012. If I read something set in another country before I finish, I'll tack it on as read for the challenge. Then, I may scout out some new books. But no pressure is my theme this year.

Thanks Vizara not sure how it got under the wrong country's name.

I did a Toastmaster's speech on this book. The manual I was working on was Interpretive Reading.
