I finally finished the book! I wouldn't have pushed myself to read it if it had not been one of our choices, but I'm glad I did 'cause now I can go watch the movie.
I agree with Roxy: some of the extra bits of info was boring and slowed the story down. I think half-way through the book, I started skimming those. Then after I finished, I went back to them. If I had not done that, I probably would have rated it lower.
Dr. Manhattan was the most interesting character. I'm a little disappointed because I heard that in the movie, he's not played by a real person.

Actually, Billy Cruddup plays Manhattan, and does a stellar job. He's extremely enhanced with computer effects, but the actor's performance comes through very clearly (as, similarly, Andy Sirkis's acting as Gollum in Lord of the Rings and Bill Nighy's as Davy Jones in the Pirates movies came through).
Best,
Tim
I love the storytelling in his "chapter" of the novel. The way the photograph falls to the surface of Mars, the simultaneous experience of time in what we would think of as "past and future" for him is always "now"--always is, and not was or will be.

Post anything about the graphic novel and/or movie here!
