Lori Walker We are going to have one thread for each book as now Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ has made a spoiler tag that you can use to put before anything that is a spoiler. Use your discretion as to what would be a pretty big spoiler and label it. Please put up to what page the spoiler is for.

To create the tag simply do this:

< spoiler> Blah blah blah spoilery stuff < /spoiler>

*Take out the spaces in both of the spoiler tag.

It will look like this:

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments I've read this a couple of times, I'm excited to see what everyone thinks!

Ashley Lauren (ashleyllauren) It's been a while since I've read this but I enjoyed it also; it's a very unique story line and I have a number of friends who are just ga-ga about it. If you're into sci-fi I feel like it's a must read.

One question... (view spoiler)

Summer (paradisecity) I'm about three quarters of the way through and while I'm enjoying the story itself, I was a bit taken aback by the introduction. I don't know much OSC other than what I've heard about his political views, but the arrogance on display in the introduction really turned me off. I haven't had so strong a reaction to a writer in quite some time.

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments Meh. OSC is very vocal. Just ignore it. I quite like his works, but I avoid his blog and political stuff.

Grayson Willis | 28 comments I'm really enjoying this book I love how the kids are super geniuses it makes the story a lot more interesting

message 7: by David (new)

David (canadiandave) I just finished reading it again. I really enjoy this book. Though it is a bit depressing about it's view on human nature, as someone who didn't feel like he fit in in high school (no one seemed to think a smart jock was a proper combination), the book is very empowering.

That being said, I like the Shadow series a little bit better. :)

message 8: by Tracy (new)

Tracy The first time I read Ender's Game, I was in the eighth grade. My Dad was and is a big sci-fi fan. I loved it. I have read a couple of the others that follow in the series, but it is definitely a worthwhile read.

Ana | 65 comments Just finished this book, and I really enjoyed it. I had heard about OSC's personality, so I didn't read the introduction.
As for the book itself, I thought the plot was brilliant, and also emotional. I don't know if anyone else experienced this, but the Ender's struggles just left me feeling very sad for him and like I wanted to just give him a hug, even though I'm sure he wouldn't quite know what to do with that level of affectionate physical contact. Especially at the end, all that he's been through and done and had done to him is just such a burden for a kid to bear, even a genius kid like him.

Still haven't read this, yes I know, I will get to it soon I hope. Just saw a friend on Facebook rant about an upcoming movie. Anyone who has read this excited to see the movie? Upset they are attempting it? Or scared it will ruin the story (like my friend)?

message 11: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (kimberlywithat) | 2140 comments I'm really excited about the movie. I think it might actually be better as a movie than a book. Plus, the author is heavily involved with the production, that's always a bonus.

message 12: by Tracy (new)

Tracy I didn't know that there was a movie! Awesome! Glad the author is involved!

Dera Luce I was in awe when I finished Ender's Game. Great book. I'm a little worried about the romance I detected in the trailer though. I hope they don't try to turn it into a love story.

*everyone looks at commenter quizzically*

Oh right, I'm new to this college students group. Hi everyone! Nice to meet you all.

I agree with you about the romance. I really hope there's no romance in the movie, but it really looks there will be =.=;;

Welcome to the group (:

Dera Luce Thanks, Jessica (:

Charlie (charlievcook) Just finished this recently. Absolutely loved it, shocked at how young the children were though. I saw the movie a while ago and they seemed to be a little bit older but maybe that's just me.

Mixed feelings about the ending though. I really liked the idea of the Speaker for the Dead but the end felt like it trailed off a little bit.
