Ilyna threw open the window as soon as she entered the room, allowing a breeze to drift in. Oh, it was such a beautiful day.

Since her former roommate had graduated the year before, she wondered who she would room with this year. She hoped the poor girl wouldn't mind a bit of a mess ... though this was Zephyr ...

Riley growled under her breath as she picked up her bag from outside her room. So maybe she wasn't the neatest person on the block, but did Sarielle really have to ask for a new roommate? Now she'd have to find her new room and get to know her new roommate. And then unpack. Again.

She found the door, but her hands were full. So she kicked the door as gently as she could, hoping her roommate was inside. She really didn't want to have to set down all her stuff.

Ilyna heard the thunk at the door, so she flew over and threw it open.

"You!" she exclaimed, seeing who it was.

Riley sighed in relief. "Ilyna, hi! Oh goodness, you have no idea how much trouble I have had today." She plopped her stuff next to the bed and slumped onto it. "I just want to sleep for the next three days."

"You might miss your lessons if you do that," Ilyna mentioned, plopping onto her own bed.

Riley moaned. "I don't want to go, but you're right." She sighed and glared at her bags. "So, why are you getting a new roommate?"

"Violetta graduated last year, so I was short one," Ilyna answered. "You?"

Riley rolled her eyes. "Sarielle requested a different roommate. Apparently I was too messy for her." She sighed. "And since I'm a year four and she's a year two, apparently they decided to kick me out of the room instead of her."

"We should get along quite well, then," said Ilyna. She motioned to her trunks. "The only reason it's not messy now is that I haven't had a chance to pull everything out."

Riley grinned. "Well, that's a relief. I'm already pretty sure you're not a jerk like she was."

"Well, Violetta and I got along pretty well ... though there is a reason for the chalk line down the floor."

Riley laughed. "I'm glad Sarielle didn't think of that."

"Well, Violetta and I found things easier if we each kept our mess confined to one side of the room. Fewer arguments and all that."

"That makes sense," Riley said. She stood. "Would you like to go downstairs to the lounge? We might meet some others there."

"Sure," said Ilyna, springing up from her bed, and grabbing a book in case there wasn't anyone in the lounge. "But weren't you going to sleep for the next three days?"

Riley grinned. "I think it's going to have to wait, anyway. And I'm hungry. There might be food there."

"Sounds good enough for me."
