I liked the concept of the different clans fighting for the gods, the second chance at life for the Crows and the visit to Asgard. This also looks like the story will continue into the next book and I'm interested to see what comes next.
I didn't like that the author waited until chapter 27 to have Kera visit the seer and finally explain the purpose of the Crows. It would have been a more exciting read if Kera was hip to the program and more energy was focused on the fighting and..... another f-word.
My curiosity has been piqued enough to keep reading the series but would not say this fit the "dark hero" bill. Looking forward to hearing everyone's thoughts.

I would say that Vig is dangerous enough. He's just played in a lighthearted way. Everyone in this book is crazy, so it's hard for him to stand out as particularly dark.

Well said!
I finished this today. I liked it quite a bit. I think that this is more about the heroine than the hero. That's okay because it's nice to have a strong heroine focused story. I really enjoyed the theme about found family and bonding between people who are united but come from different background. I found this wonderfully multicultural, which can definitely be an issue with many romances that are popular.
I'd give it four stars.
To those who read it, what was your favorite aspect of the book?

I loved the woman-bonding aspects of this story.
