Matthew Brookshire Great idea for a group read. I read this book last summer but look forward to the threads.

Thanks Byron for inviting me to the discussion.

Mathew Millet | 15 comments I just reread this one last year so I was thinking about sitting this one out, but I want to read it again now. It was one of my favorites. The strangest thing I took from this book was that I somehow get the sound of Frank Sinatra singing "no good, nothing, fuck up" stuck in my head every time I read it. Like I subconsciously just created a tune for it.

well, where to start? I did a review of this book some years ago for Zone-SF, and my opening salvo involved the famous Tank Man of the Tienanmen Square incident in China.

This man also DISAPPEARED after his heroic act... My newer thought is The Carpenters. In Flow My Tears, was PKD writing about the Sixes as Karen and Richard Carpenter?

WIKI'ing this book, we find a 'true description' of what this novel means... I'm not sure I agree. I think 20-20 Dickism (in extrapolative retrospect) wasn't good for the man. :)

More as this group is rediscovered by its 1400+ members... somebody has told them this Group's back online, right?
