the nether is the hell world in minecraft. the mobs in it are ghasts, blazes, zombie pigmen, etc. the basic block in it is nether brick. it is red and it can catch on fir easily. to make the portal to the nether you need obsidian and flint and steel which light things up.

i could load some pictures later of how it looks. the portal it self is pretty cool and spooky looking

it is very hard to mine up obsidian. you need a diamond pick axe

The Nether makes me nervous. Just being in there is spooky. Maybe it shouldn't be, but the strangeness and darkness makes me uncomfortable. Mines are dark, but they are less spooky than the Nether. I'm not sure why.
Do any of you have eerie feelings when entering the Nether?

i usually use the nether to get around to other places in the overworld... i just use another portal very far away from the original. isnt it like every 5 blocks in the overworld is 1 block in the nether? does anyone know about that?

If I go to the nether, I get a present (bomb) from ghast

I do not survive for long in the nether, but I have a friend who runs around in there as if it was his second home. He starts fights with Pigmen just for fun - it is very easy for him, but not for me...
