It's time to start thinking about what we want to read for April 2013. Please post your suggestions in this thread. Be sure to use the "add book/author" link just above the comment box, so it will be easy for other members to assess the book. Don't hesitate to nominate something that has been suggested previously, but please do not nominate something that was just published in the last few months. Newer books may not be accessible to all our members.

Nominations will be closed on February 26.

Aloha | 334 comments Here's something I don't think we've touched upon that looks really interesting. It's a little book, too. Under 200 pages.

The Hidden Sense: Synesthesia In Art And Science

We already read How I Killed Pluto and Why It Had It Coming, in March 2011.

John (johnglassie) | 13 comments How about Hallucinations by Oliver Sacks Hallucinations by Oliver Sacks?

message 11: by Aloha (new)

Aloha | 334 comments I'm going through the books under my synesthesia list, and I'd like to change my nomination to Synesthesia: Perspectives from Cognitive Neuroscience, since it gives a more scientific point of view. From the description, the other one looks more like light reading.

DeLene Beeland (tdelene) I've been skimming an advance galley of FRANKENSTEIN'S CAT: Cuddling Up to Biotech's Brave New Beasts -- it's quite interesting! Due out on 3/12/13. It's all about animal biotech, from frivoulous projects to conservation uses to agricultural applications.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 368 comments Is an advance galley going to be widely available?

message 14: by DeLene (new)

DeLene Beeland (tdelene) No, but the book will be released on March 13, 2013.

DeLene, since the book isn't even published yet, it's not really a good candidate for the April group read. Could you move or copy your suggestion to this thread:

http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/6...

or set up a new thread under the Recent Releases folder.

Thanks.

Sounds like an interesting book! Generally, we wait until about half a year or so after publication, before nominating a book for "book of the month". That gives some time for libraries and book stores to acquire the book. Please nominate it again, a bit later!

message 17: by DeLene (new)

DeLene Beeland (tdelene) Okay, apologies -- just starting to participate here. Will do as you've suggested.

Haha yeah! My favourite chapter title is 'Beware of Evil Squirrels'!
