Comments? Thoughts?

Hi...I'm Marjorie and I started reading this on my kindle and I'm liking it so far. I bought the book set when they first came out and couldn't get into them because I couldn't keep all the characters in my head. I got my kindle this Christmas and I love the x-ray feature because if I forget who the characters are I can quickly look them up. I'm thinking I'll give the boxed set to my grandson :)

Dhfan4life | 1051 comments Oh that is really cool Marjorie. Nothing like a Superman power to save the day for readers. :)

I've only seen seasons one and two of the tv show but a friend of mine has read some of the books and she loves them. If I had time to squeeze in the A Game of Thrones book in March then I definitely would.

There are a ton of characters. Do ya'll have any favorite characters?

By the way, welcome to the group Elizabeth and Marjorie ^.^.

You're welcome and thanks.

Lol, it sounds like it.

Mine are Daenerys and Arya (if I'm spelling that right) as far as the females go. At least in the t.v. show anyways. Do you find the characters to be any different in the tv show compared to the books?

That's a really good thing then. I hate it when the difference in chars between the books and movies/tv shows is really drastic.

It is. One way to get past that is to just try to think of it as a similar tv/movie LOL.

Lol, it really does, depending on the differences in the show/movie. Hopefully Game of Thrones will continue sticking to the book like Lord of the Rings did (according to ppl who read the books).

Same here. Lol, the same thing happened to me with the Lord of the Rings book series. I started off with The Hobbit but just couldn't get into it at the time.

Thanks for the welcome. And, I finally finished A Game of Thrones! I loved it! But it took so long, about 3 weeks, to finish, even with my super powers...lol. I think my favorite characters were Daenerys, Tyrion and Arya. The TV series is very much like the book, as a few have already mentioned. But, the book reveals lots of little secrets that aren't mentioned in the TV series :)

That's great that you loved A Game of Thrones, Marjorie. Lol, it's a really huge book. All of those are good characters ^.^. Good to hear from someone else that the tv show is a lot like the book(s). A book can reveal more of a character's feelings too compared to a tv show/movie. It just depends.

Here's a question for anyone who has read Game of Thrones and or watched the tv series. Are there any particular characters that you think would make a good couple or do make a good couple? You can place your answers with a spoiler tag if you feel revealing that would spoil anything for anyone.
