Re-reading the wonderful and mind-bending Labyrinths by Jorge Luis Borges. And to brush up on ancient apocalypse material for my eternally-WIP novel, Cosmos, Chaos and the World to Come: The Ancient Roots of Apocalyptic Faith by Norman Cohn.

I'll be finishing Looking for Jake. For my challenge I will try and read The Windup Girl, The Killer Inside Me, The Stranger and maybe The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

I recently read Hard Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World and I thought it was pretty damn good. This was the second Murakami novel I've read (the first was 1Q84) and I'm quickly becoming a fan. Next up on my Murakami list is The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle.

It's worth it in the end though :)
Currently still listening to A Mighty Fortress on audio and after more than 10 hours not much action wise has happened. The political intrigue is fascinating and keeps me wanting to know more. For me it's a nice contrast to the previous S&L read and shows that politics CAN be entertaining.
Finishing up Flowers for Algernon on my Kindle app and just started on Confessor in dead tree edition. Last volume in the Sword of Truth series so I am looking forward to completing this epic read.

In my queue right now...
The Mongoliad: Book One
Dragonflight (and then the others)
The Disappearing Spoon: And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the Periodic Table of the Elements
Riding Rockets: The Outrageous Tales of a Space Shuttle Astronaut (still...I really can't figure out why I'm not getting into this...I've met astronauts and I generally like takes on the history of the manned space programs...so...)

I recommend The Disappearing Spoon: And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the Periodic Table of the Elements. It'll give you a break from the usual SF&F and it's really cool and interesting. It's one of the best non-fiction books I've read.
I finished listening to The Way of Shadows today. I started listening to The Fault in Our Stars. As soon as I figure out how to load the 13 discs of Iced into iTunes 11, I'll be listening to that. (This newest iTunes doesn't work the way it used to.)
I'm almost finished with Wool Omnibus and haven't decided what my next book will be. Maybe I'll go ahead and finish A Clash of Kings.

I tried to read that one, the full version and couldn't make it past the first monologue. I hope you will do better than me :).
Me, it looks like this is a YA month for me. I'm still reading book:The Historian|10692], slowly but surely and that is the only "grown up" read right now in my stack. I'm listening to Cinder, reading Beautiful Darkness and Shopaholic and Sister for my "Sequel Challenge". I think with that and this month's pick I should be busy enough for April.

I really enjoyed this book. I listened to it in audio and it was one of my favorites. I have the next book by the author in my audible queue.

I did start listening to it yesterday, and though I think it's quite interesting and well-written, I'm finding my mind wandering a lot.
I'm only through Part 1 so far, so maybe it changes later, but I think I'm running into a "problem" where the author spends a lot of time explaining how the periodic table works and how elements interact...I studied a lot of that in college, between being a physics major and taking a fair amount of bio and chem including organic chemistry (I thought I was going to be a doctor). So, my mind wanders while the author explains things for the lay audience, then he gets to the parts about the history and the stories behind elements and I have to snap back to paying attention. I'm finding myself doing a lot of rewinding. :\

I also enjoyed The Disappearing Spoon but I wonder if it will be scientific enough for you! I'm still enamored by the silver drinkers.

I had that problem too. However, I still found it fascinating. My daughter is a high school physics teacher and she ended up getting a hard copy for her classroom book shelf after listening to it. She keeps an assortment of fun science books and hard SF on her shelf for students to read on their own. My teenage son loved the book too. He was taking chemistry when he read it. I don't know if it helped or not.
I finished reading Wool Omnibus today. It was outstanding and I want more. I saw that there's a sequel. I might have to get it.

Audio for drive to work and home:
A Game of Thrones Which I will probably finish before the end of the month so I have queued up The Evolutionary Void.
In text format:
The Dragonriders of Pern I am going to read all three books. Followed by finishing the Old Man's War series with Zoe's Tale. I will probably be able to get through 2 more books which in my queue are Blood Rites and River of Blue Fire. Since Dragon Riders and River are both 700+ page books I doubt I will get to anything else this month.

Funny thing is that I went in for Empty Space so I have both of those on my list. Plus finishing Gun Machine and The Way of Kings

For sure on the list for this month: Reaper's Gale, Fade to Black, Childhood's End
If the library let's me have them: The Best of All Possible Worlds, Consider the Fork: How Technology Transforms the Way We Cook and Eat
And tiding me over in discounted e-book form if I don't get those books: Containment, A Fire Upon the Deep, The Penultimate Truth

My review http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Starting on Peter V Brett's second Demon Cycle book The Desert Spear

And I'm still continuing to read The First Law series, currently at book two.

I'm having a similar issue myself. I was making good progress through Dragonflight, then I went to Wondercon, and haven't found the motivation to go back yet. Maybe I'll finish it off on Saturday afternoon when there's nothing better on television.
My trek through the Dresden Files continues. Finished up Death Masks last night. Plan to start Blood Rites tonight.

Next up will be Joe Abercrombie's The Heroes and re-listens to Steven Erikson's Forge of Darkness or maybe Iain Banks' The Hydrogen Sonata or another of the Culture novels (so sad to hear of Mr. Banks' health issues!).
This, along with my regular podcast rotation, which includes some fiction as well, including the three Escape Artists podcasts (Escape Pod, Podcastle, and Pseudopod), and the Beneath Ceaseless Skies podcast, which I just discovered a couple of months ago, and which is an absolute gem. Lots of back catalog to get through there.

Hoping for the best because the last few books Ive picked up (Poison Princess, Wings, The Shadow Heir) have been DNF/Lemmings for me

One of the best books I've read this year. Zombie fiction set in historical mid-evil England. No magic or sorcery, well written and delivers to the end.
Finished the audiobook for 11/22/63 (My Review)
Starting The Wretched of Muirwood as my first official SFFAudio review.

I've started listening to The Telling by Ursula K. LeGuin, also for SFF Audio. Apparently it is in the same broad universe as The Left Hand of Darkness and The Dispossessed, but I don't think I knew those two were related.

- Dragonflight. (Finished March 30th)
- The Short Book of Short Shorts. (Finished March 31st)
- World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War. (Finished April 6th)
- Redshirts. (Finished Apr 7th)
- Leviathan Wakes. (Finished Apr 11st)
Starting: Ender's Game.
Next on my list for April:
- Hellhole Awakening

Me too !

Am considering finally reading Stephen King's Under the Dome next. Had it for too long, and I've been so long without an Uncle Steve tale.
