I read these in the early 80's, but they were old then...The series is about a girl who decides to become a Candy Striper, and throughout the series goes on to be a nurse. I'm pretty sure her name is part of the title in most of the books, too. Any help is appreciated!

Could this be the Alice Series ("Patiently Alice," "Alice Alone," etc.)?

No, I looked those up and the series I am looking for is a lot older than that (maybe printed in the 60's?). Thanks, though! I really wish I could remember more about them!

I'm thinking either Cherry Ames by Helen Wells or Sue Barton by Helen Dore Boylston? Both have their names as part of the title for most books. I used to love both series, but especially Sue Barton, as Cherry Ames quickly got too unrealistic.
