I just saw the hard cover book and the cover is SO gorgeous! I loved the feel of it as well. I can't wait!!

I'm so ready, this book has been waiting on my counter for almost a month, lol!

I bought the ebook! My library has a hold list of over 190!!!! I know they have over 30 books but WOW! lol

That is CRAZY Trisha. Sometimes its nice to live in a small town. We have 5 copies and I got mine right away. I get annoyed when I am 3rd or lower on a wait list, lol!

I live in a small town....but it's so small we don't have a library :(
the library I pay for is like a 2 hour drive away, but it's huge and has lots of books but it covers a HUGE county and so , while they almost always have the latest books and lots of copies...sometimes I have to wait (and I hate waiting! LOL!)

I am so blessed that I don't have to drive 2 hours to a Library. I'm not sure I could handle that, lol! I have a feeling you'll be glad you ended up buying this one!

I'm good with however! :) I'm so excited to start this one, but I have quite a bit of books I need to finish up before I start this one - it might be later in the day for me tomorrow :D

I've been seeing this book 5th Wave pop up a lot let me know how it is, sounds interesting.

Lets start with every 10 and if that's too often we can switch it up. I can't read this one at work since it's hardcover, lol. I'm going to start at my daughters MRI and see how far I can get.... yay so glad its finally time for this book!!!!!

Ok, I have finished the first 10 chapters. It's mostly world building at this point, but it's good none the less! Already I can't wait to see what happens and I love the blend of flashbacks and the present. Helps to understand how our main character got to where she is!

Ok, done though 20 and it keeps getting more and more interesting! Still world building, but super interesting. I'm hooked for sure. Any one else start?

Hey, it is what it is. No apologizing! We all have lives and they are what comes first. So, just start when you can and in the mean time I'll keep reading my 3 books and listening to "of poseidon", lol! There really hasn't been anything to comment on except the bravery of Cassidy.

so I'm 10 chapters in:

I'm keeping track of the waves, because (as my husband keeps reminding me) I need to start doing this "is this a possible outcome" test for these books I'm reading that are post post-apocalyptic/dystopian type. The story just usually sucks me in and I don't question anything, but then when I go to explain it to him, he brings up all these good points...so I'm trying to do that a little here.....but the story is REALLY good!

and, just as a total side note, I'd be gone in Wave 2
because I live in Oregon :( bye everyone, I wouldn't make it through this one....but wave 3 sounds bad, so it's okay :) (Vicki, you too! California, we'd be wiped out!!!)

I'm really impressed with Cassie and how long she's survived. I'm interested to hear how she's done it. We got a slight hint about a refugee camp, but still not a lot of story there.

and I don't think the story of how we lose her dad and brother is going to be pretty :(

I'm reading almost back to back post-apocalyptic and...gah, I'm looking forward to something more light and fluffy soon!

I just finished chapter ten and I would be gone in the second wave also as I live in California. I'm really liking the book so far and not having much to say yet as its just setting the story up basically. *goes back to reading*

well my kindle just died so I'll read it a little later I guess. I totally forgot to charge it overnight! oops.

So sorry you had to type it over! I'm reading the rest of everyone's comments now. I am just starting Part II and it seems to be from a different person's POV, so I'm wondering who for sure, but I'm guess it's the kid from the jacket that Cassidy meets, Evan (?) but it could be anyone! LOL

I'd be safe for Wave 2, I'm in Indiana, but I'm pretty sure I'd have died in wave 3, i'm just not that resiliant!

Well, I was COMPLETELY wrong in my spoiler! WOW. Interesting who's POV the "Wonderland" section is from. I am LOVING this book.

Done through chapter 30!

(view spoiler)[ I was so shocked with the last line of chapter 30, and the POV of that section. Cassidy's love (or her object of affection from afar!) Can definitely see this will come back to be a huge problem in the future!

Glad they figured out that the Aliens are IN ppl's brains, which stinks for the ppl, but gives humans a fighting chance! (hide spoiler)]
